Brilliant news to Roferon A users! Just enquired about the shortage and this was the reply from haematology department which takes effect by the end of this year.
"I believe the drug company is due to stop manufacturing interferon alpha. However it is our understanding that a replacement product will be available (PEG-interferon) which tends to be longer lasting."
I have a new lease on life yay 🤣

I am so pleased for you as I am sure the change should give you more quality of life. I'm interested to see what my haematologist has to say about this when I see her about a week from now.
Disappointing news, the haematology registrar told me this & it was totally incorrect. In hindsight he prescribed me the wrong medicine twice in a row & may have been referring to the interferon 2b he was prescribing & not the 2a
