Hi everyone, In December 19 I got a virus (I wasn't tested as wasn't supposed to be here then, but suspect it was covid) I was incredibly up and down between then and Feb 20. During the time I was poorly I just felt awful heart racing , dizzy , flu symptoms, brain fog and of course my asthma which

4K just to get out there!
I wasn’t happy on this run. For various reasons, I wasn’t able to run early and it was 11.30 before I set out on my run. Still chilly out but the sun was shining. Maybe I could manage without my jacket today? I had on my short sleeved tee and my new Proviz long sleeved tee shirt (which looked grey yesterday

New to site. Help for 92 year old
Hello, My 92 year old Mum was diagnosed with Bronchiectasis last year after years of coughing. Xrays showed nothing but GP could hear a lung problem. Finally a scan diagnosed Bronchiectasis. That is about it. Given a name of the condition but no referral to physio or advice how to manage. She did get

So..... you have asthma!
Side effects are very common with
inhalers
and other medications but these usually lessen over time - and don't forget that just because one normally reads about negative or more severe effects doesn't mean they're going to happen or are even more common. 4.

Spiriva Respimat use
Hi, has anyone used Spiriva Respimat inhaler and found it hard to inhale. I have just recently started using this and find that when I inhale it takes my breath away and makes me cough. I would really appreciate anyone who may be having or had the same problem. Cheers

This week the government put COPD
inhalers
on their list, so I asked my consultant here re this, it is for Umeclidium - from checking on the net appears to be Incruse Ellipla (am I correct?)

Covid Vaccine 💉
Hi all, I hope you are all staying safe and well 😊. I know there has been a few worries and queries about the Covid vaccine eligibility for asthmatics, this is a statement from AUK and we have also written to JCVI for clarity - I hope this is helpful 👍 'People with severe asthma who are clinically

A bit fed up
In the context of a global pandemic I probably shouldn’t grumble, but I’m a bit down after a phone consultation with my gp this morning. My asthma was diagnosed as severe after a nasty chest infection and (mild) pneumonia around Christmas 2019. Since then I’ve accumulated medications - now on Fostair

Flixotide 250
Hi all, I am looking for more advice! This time regarding an inhaler. I have recently been given Flixotide 250 and have been instructed to take 2 puffs morning and night. After doing a bit of research, I see this is quite a high dose inhaler. I recently had a flare up (not sure of the trigger) and was

No improvements...
So I’m on month 5 of a very rocky road with asthma. At least that’s what it’s been diagnosed as. On my 3rd preventative inhaler after the previous 2 weren’t cutting it. So I’ve now been put on sereflo. I’m using my blue inhaler everyday without fail, multiple times. I’m on a Nasal spray for PND, also

is bone pain a normal Side effect of montelukast?
Hello , I am on day two of montelukast 10 mg .I am taking it together with budecort inhaler. But I am experiencing sever bone pain, including the chest ,back ,pelvic bone and legs. Has anyone ever experienced these symptoms? Could it be the inhaler doing this or the montelukast?

Dismissive Doctor
Hi all, At the end of May 2020 I had several severe asthma attacks and have been having ongoing issues since then, including greatly restricted mobility that's effectively left me house bound. I'm currently on relvar and montelukast, having previously tried sirdupla, fostair and clenil (I was on this

Lovely morning for a run
I’ve been a bit lax over the last few weeks. My normal 3-4 runs a week have dwindled to one a week and much shorter too.🥴 just not had no motivation -also worried about slipping on icy surfaces. And my Online Pilates classes stopped for two weeks over Xmas ( and so did I🙄). I had no excuse really as

Any ideas on COVID Vaccination?
I'm 74 years old and have chronic Asthma and COPD. It is under control with Spiriva Respitmat and blue inhaler if required. I have no idea when I'm likely to receive my COVID Vaccination. Does it make a difference as to where you live? Any ideas please?

Combisal vs Fostair
My asthma has been somewhat out of control the last couple of months. My usual prescription of Fostair 100/6 (2 puffs twice a day) and daily Montelukast has not been working well enough. I 've also been getting nightly crackles in my chest when I breathe in, although the asthma nurse doesn't think
