Flare ups after reducing prednisolone
I’ve only been diagnosed with asthma recently and as I wasn’t using a preventer previously my symptoms were out of control and I was prescribed prednisolone. Initially this was only for 5 days but I struggled to come off them and so was put on them for a longer period. After speaking to a consultant

Ran today with no inhaler 😁🎉🏃♀️
And also where I’ve had to pack up stuff from cupboard and bookcases I cannot find my
inhalers
( since Sunday morning!!) but, strangely, I’ve not needed them and have been breathing really easily and deeply. So today I went off on my run without using one.

How do I know which came first?
Hello all, new forum member here. Sorry if this post is a bit long....I'm predicting it may be... :) The question I have, is how do you know if you have anxiety/panic attacks caused by asthma, or does asthma cause the anxiety? I realize that it's a bit of a chicken and egg problem with no easy answer

Chestiness during jogging during cold/minus temps, better to stop? Puff on inhaler a few times and push through? Thank you:)
Hi all, when jogging in cold/minus temps, is it unhealthy to fight through the chestiness? I puff my inhaler (steroid) before and then maybe twice (1×rescue 1×steroid) during the job but am wondering am I doing more damage than good? Hope everyone is breathing well today!

Allergic / nocturnal asthma
I feel like im getting through my reliver
inhalers
so quickly. Anyway, I've read some stuff about 'post nasal drip' which i suspect might be my problem, after a day of exposure to allergens, or as the pollen comes out at night and I lay down.

Home Nebs 🫁 - they may help improve QoL in severe asthmatics, but are they safe?! Everything you need to know!
STEROIDS/ANTIBIOTICS
Typically not used for asthmatics, however people with COPD or bronchiectasis they may be advised to nebulise these rather than use
inhalers
or tablets. This is mainly to have a more direct effect in the lungs and to make is easier to coordinate etc.

Quick question
Hi hope everyone is ok. I just have a quick question ohh actually might be two in one. I’ve been taking Fostair inhaler with spacer for nearly a week now, I think it is helping so far, although it made me shaky the first few times of taking it, and I get a mild tickly throat. I also have ventolin as

Skin allergies
Hello there to everyone. First want to thank everyone who replied to me on my previous post. I consulted a doctor as advised and I have gotten much better. I'm now on montelukast and given another inhaler. (still Seretide because of tachycardia that doesn't flow well with salbutamol) The problem now

Further Update: Multiple Chest Infections
Finally, he is referring me urgently to the chest clinic since I should not be getting so many infections, it is not typical for asthma to respond this way, and I am at the limit of what they can prescribe for

Question about vaccine eligibility
Apologies if it's been covered already but I couldn't find anything following a search of the forum. Since the beginning of the pandemic the nhs has been pretty clear that even if your asthma doesn't require you to shield you would still be at higher risk of complications. That pretty much reflects my

Do you ever go back to “normal”?
I am 49, work a physical job and single (widowed) mother to 2 teenagers. 🙄🙄 I was only diagnosed with asthma this year following 6 months of worsening SOB ended in a 3 day emergency hospital admission. I was discharged with my 5 day course of steroids, and Symbicort SMART inhaler. I also take Fexofenadrine

Pneumonia or Thyroid?
Hi All, Firstly, thank you to everyone who contributes to this forum, which is a god send to those of us with GP’s who aren’t informed about thyroid disease, to say the least. PMR and asthma
Hi everyone. I’m wondering whether there is anyone else with PMR who is also asthmatic. All my adult life it has largely been well-controlled with a daily preventative inhaler and very occasional use of a reliever. In the last few months, PMR diagnosed in June this year, the asthma has been worse. My
