Breo versus Flovent

Hi everyone , recently went to a new pulmonologist . In June I got Covid but I was one of the lucky ones that didn’t have to go to hospital . Since then sometimes I get SOB so they changed my Flovent to Breo . When changing inhalers are you more susceptical to getting an asthma attack or sick ? Also is anyone on Breo and how is it working for you ? I am quite afraid to change things because risking getting sick again . Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated .

Ive not been on either of these inhalers but from the sounds of it you have switched from a plain steroid inhaler to a combination inhaler. Because there have the same steroid base you are less likely to have the dip that can occur when you switch steroid bases. It also shouldn’t increase your risk of getting sick. What’s happened is they’ve given you a long term reliever mixed in with the steroid. There shouldn’t be anything to be worried about for the switch. You may find that the improvement is sudden or that it slowly improves over the next few weeks. For more information on inhalers in general; healthunlocked.com/asthmauk... and for add ons including combination inhalers etc healthunlocked.com/asthmauk...

I hope this helps and that the breo works for you.

Thank you so much Emma for taking the time to answer my question. That makes more sense. I feel better now trying the Breo.
