I was wondering.....
I also receive Avastin and
immunotherapy
/placebo. This was more difficult side effects than before. I was more nauseated and the body aches were worse and lasted longer as well. I am a very positive person and the treatment is working so please do not take it at a complaint.

Waiting
We have an appointment for a second opinion next week but it's an NHS referral and the Consultant has already informed our Gp that she is unlikely to disagree with the original oncologist. ( not sure how this equates to a 2nd opinion) My husband tested negative for mutations/PD-L1 so can't have

I was also interested in
immunotherapy
, particularly Avelumab as I know there have been some hopeful results using this drug for OC in trials but it’s not licensed for it yet. Disappointed to learn trial no longer recruiting in London but anyone know about others coming up?

Study presented at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Congress may mean a new way to treat patients with stage 3 lung cancer
The study showed that patients with stage 3 lung cancer who took an
immunotherapy
drug (durvalumab, brand name Imfinzi) after chemotherapy and radiation had a longer period of progression-free survival (16.8 months) than patients who were not treated with
immunotherapy
(5.6 months).

Hello does anyone have any info on starting
Immunotherapy
where there has been progression after carboplatin chemo? Particularly where someone has picked up infection whilst having chemo despite tolerating it quite well. Thanks in advance x

Update on RW
After his 2nd
immunotherapy
it wasn't even a week and he was back in the hospital. This stuff just isn't working only making things worse , he is worse. After 1 week in the hospital they moved him to palliative care for another week because there is nothing left to try.

Checkpoint inhibitor therapy.
From yesterday's presentation: "The analysis of more than 9,000 prostate tumors ... found evidence that PD-L2, not PD-L1, may provide a key route for targeted therapies, such as
immunotherapy
, to slow disease progression."

Inflammation.
I asked James Allison, who pioneered cancer
immunotherapy
, to define “inflammation,” and he paused, considering the definition. “It’s a response to injury, mediated by immunological cells. But there are dozens of cell types communicating through even further dozens of signals.”

New Yorker Cancer Article is a must read
The
immunotherapy
looks promising, but expensive. Basically it says our resistance to tumor spread is gene based, individual, and extremely complex. It is good to know the research is progressing rapidly. It is general and not prostate cancer specific, but relates a lot to our condition.

Good news
Taken off trial ,
Immunotherapy
( Pembrolizumab ) in May , but CT scan shows now , stable disease , with " Masses " , in retreat " marginally shrunk " . The thinking is that my immune system has been re educated and is doing the work .

LOC Appointment
As you all know it is for ladies with rising CA125 levels or small amounts of disease on a scan, it is an
immunotherapy
drug based on the Smallpox vaccine, and he thinks this could be a good one for me.
