Professor Graham Hughes' March Blog 2016
My advice in this situation, when aspirin (and/or Plavix) have failed, is to consider a three week course of
heparin
– a daily injection of course, but very safe and frequently providing very useful information. Some weeks later I received a follow-up email from the doctor.

Update from surgery
Before surgery, the doctor and I discussed what medication he was going to put me on to prevent blood clots, he mentioned
heparin
and another one, that I can't think of right now. He is going to start one of them tomorrow and continue it for a few weeks.

Septrin 80mg/400mg
Dear all. I've been on Septrin since June as CD4 is low which I completely understand. Does anyone know if Septrin cause change of Skin colour (make the skin darker). I was told that some antibiotics may cause skin issues but having read the leaflets there is mentioning abiut skin related issues.

Scariest few days !
A scan couldn't be done till Wednesday so they'd give me an injection ( not
heparin
or warfarin, newer). Monday was in the left side of the stomache,, Tuesday the right side. Yesterday the scan. Scared witless was an understatement by this point. Thankfully I got the all clear.

Constant loud ringing in ear
My husband has a constant loud ringing in his ear and terrible headaches on the same side. He only has 15% hearing in the same ear. Hearing test performed at work. He's seen multiple Drs no help.

Pea sized lump under skin from heparin injection?
Hi, I've been injecting
heparin
for about 3 months since I found out I was pregnant. I've been lucky enough to have very minimal bruising. However, last night I noticed a small lump under the skin near an injection site where there is a little bruise, it's about the size of a pea.

Ablations and Blood Thinners
But I don’t know if
heparin
has to be used during the ablation part of the operation. If options 1 a 3 aren’t possible, you will still have option 2 the Mini-Maze. That should give you confidence and hope. You know there is a way to help you. Has any one have been in this situation?

1 positive test, pregnant -advice please...!
I am paying for a private repeat test today before starting the
heparin
tonight. My question is, if this second test comes back negative does that mean I do not have APS? If this is the case I would like to stop the
heparin
(Fragmin) if it is not needed.
