Professor Graham Hughes' Blog October 2015
It was decided to institute what I call our ‘
heparin
trial’. This is a very ‘clinical’ (and probably not very scientific) trial of two to four weeks of
heparin
(low molecular weight
heparin
, e.g. Fragmin 10,000 units daily). The results were dramatic – no more balance problems, headaches gone.

Just seen Professor Cruz with a result I think ?
Prof D'Cruz looked at all my blood work and history and decided I have APS without doubt but because of low levels he is worried about keeping me on the
Heparin
as their is a risk of brain bleeds e.c.t.

Start January.....way more drugs, any advise??
Anyway, he's told us he wants to use asprin,
heparin
and steroids in next round for best possible chance of implantation and preventing rejection. He explained they aren't regulated for fertility treatment, but used a lot and he feels are safe when used correctly.

IVF & when to take blood thinners
I went on aspirin and
heparin
for my next pregnancy that happened very quickly after the 2nd mc. The doctors wanted to wait for a scan before starting the blood thinners to be sure I was not ectopic.

Dental work
My GP said I need to stop my warfarin for a day before and two days after and have
heparin
instead, he said the dentist should arrange this.

Soon as I fell pregnant with my 2nd child I went onto
heparin
and warfrin just incase I had another blood clot. My daughter is now 17 and I've just flew back from holiday with a massive clot from my groin right down to my knee. I'm lucky to be alive.

Hi everyone
Following a further PE I was prescribed
Heparin
instead and inject daily. I suffer on a daily basis from headaches, brain fog and fatigue and for the last 6 months have had the most horrendous pain in my ankles regardless of how much walking I do.

A trial of
heparin
produced partial improvement – but full ‘cure’ proved difficult. Finally, a course of treatment with intravenous immunoglobulin (I.V.I.G.) was undertaken. Complete resolution of the St Vitus Dance!

Hi, I am new to this site and thyroid issues so I'd be grateful for some advice as I have my first endo appointment this week.
I was diagonised with stage 4 Hodgkin's lymphoma in oct 2012, 7 different types of chemo and 2 stem cell transplants later I'm still here and hodgkins free for 11 months. Due to treatments I have a non functioning spleen so I was on 961mg septrin, 500mg of amoxicillin & Aciclovir every day. Many meds
