Managed to escape from Askaban after lunch thanks to hot wheels Sam and Mikey on navigation and just got home. Quick resume Angiogram --- coronaries all good . Had 20 min aura following contrast which is a first for me. Only residual problem was the dresssing. Nurse with the clippers who prepped

Awaiting diagnosis of Heart Failure
My husband had a Mitral and Tricuspid Valve repair in June 2020, however his AF could not be treated as it had been happening for too long (they discovered the valve problems because AF was found on an ECG some 18 months prior to the operation). He has been struggling with his breathing for some months

Worries about having a stroke
Hi everyone, this is my first post. I’m a 51 year old female and I had mitral and aortic valves replaced last year so am on warfarin for life. I have real anxiety about having a stroke after having a TIA after having the Astrazenica vaccine. I need to have surgery on both of my knees, probably partial

angiogram
Has anyone had to stop their apixaban for an angiogram. I understand because of bleeding, but when I went to have my pre op assessment the nurse didn’t know. She "thought" I had to stop the apixaban for 2 days prior and take aspirin 75 instead. I have tried to get on to the hospital, but always answerphone

new diagnosis advice on blood thinners please
I had my diagnosis only 4 days ago after an echocardiogram. I was prescribed Apixaban 5mg twice a day which are making me feel incredibly ill so I haven’t taken today’s dose. I intend to ring my surgery Monday morning to ask if there’s another medication blood thinner I could take instead with less

Diagnosing Heart Failure?
I am looking for some advice from others who have been in a similar situation or know more about blood tests and heart failure please. My husband had a Mitral and Tricuspid valve repair 2 years ago but nothing could be done regarding his AF. Since COVID he’s been pretty much left to get on with things

How bad is it?
Does anyone understand BNP levels mine is 2963ng/L I think normal is between 0.0. 150. I think it indicates heart failure but not sure. Before I can have echocardiogram privately I need referral from GP who would you believe it is off sick!!

I now need to take meds again in order to bring back to morning dose over two days. I am fine taking flecainide and blood thinner since I take

Terrified
As per my previous post I’ve recently had lots of blood tests due to being tired all the time. I rang to see if the results were in and have been told the GP has referred me to Cardiologist for an echocardiogram. I hope to speak to GP in the morning subject to getting a telephone consultation. I have

open heart surgery
Hi guys Just wondered if anyone has had surgery for either replacing or repairing a mitral valve and atrium valve? How were you after surgery and how long until you felt fairly ‘normal’ Thanks in advance.

NT-proBNP Level query
Trying to line up a few questions for a Cardio call in December and cannot seem to find this bit out. My last Se N-term pro BNP conc result was 444 ng/L, is this the same as pg/mL? It came back as abnormal with normal given as 0-400, I`m 66, so could I have Heart failure as no one has said I have.
