Bionic Bobby is back

Managed to escape from Askaban after lunch thanks to hot wheels Sam and Mikey on navigation and just got home.

Quick resume

Angiogram --- coronaries all good . Had 20 min aura following contrast which is a first for me. Only residual problem was the dresssing. Nurse with the clippers who prepped me massively under achieved and when Nurse Mena went to remove the dressing at lunchtime she sprang back in horror whilst barely stiffling a chuckle and suggested I do it myself when I got home. Now I know the inspiration for Edvard Munch's famous painting.

The PM implant went OK and less painful than I expected (you know I am a devout coward about pain) and I guess the worst bit was the local anaesthetic. Xray'd and operation checked and all working so back in six weeks for PM check .

Feel a bit battered and bruised and desperately tired (hospitals as so noisy) so I'm not hanging about this evening.

Thanks for all the good will.

Bob

Glad it all went well Bob. Time to put your feet up for a while. Do you feel better immediately, albeit battered and sore?. Ie, out of AF and in sinus rhythm?. What have they set your pacemaker at?.

Excellent news Bob, there’ll be no stopping you now!

Glad it is all over and you are safely home.

Don’t forget don’t lift anything heavier than the TV remote until it all settles down. 😜

I was wondering how you'd got on Bob, nearly PM'd you a short while ago. Glad to hear all went well. Now rest please and allow the pacemaker to bed in with no aggravation from you moving around. You take care for a few weeks now.

Glad it went well Bob.Apart from a few chips around the edges it sounds as if all is well. Asthe others say its time for you to put your feet up and for Mrs Bob to love and care for you...which i feel sure will happen.

Good stuff by the sound of it, Use the plaster remover with caution in the area concerned or you will be ouching!!

BobD profile image

hence my reference to Edvard Munch or is that a bit too off the wall?

Bagrat profile image
Bagrat in reply toBobD

No I got that connection. Should have put WILL in capitals. Thought maybe you had approached the offending dressing with brute force!!

Well done and welcome back! Why the angiogram? A requirement for the PM? Anyway, sounds like you made the right call re not taking statins.

My very best wishes Bob for your recovery. Laughed at the Edvard Munch bit, not funny for you though. Always enjoy reading your wise words on this site. Take care.

By the way, what's a PM?

Welcome to the PM club - May you need many more battery replacements ( unless you have the new solar rechargeable version of course)

Hooray So glad all went well and it is behind you now. What limits do they set the PM at so that it intervenes? Anyway have a lovely relaxing recovery. Thx for updating. X

Small solar panel pinned to the lapel actually - this is another of my inventions after the Cardio-Swat and the wind -recharged PM ( very heavy head mounted fan-type arrangement) 😂

Great to hear all good with angiogram(apart from the prep) gently does it now for few weeks, you have been through a fairly big ordeal. A few good nights sleep in your own bed should help. Mind yourself and keep us updated.👏
