I told mine at renewal and told me they weren't interested as its something you don't have to inform the dvla about.

MIne couldn't care less about my Heart attack and stents. (Direct Line)
Hi Charl. Neither the DVLA or insurers wanted to know about my hubby's quad bypass even though I rang both, so insurance was never affected. I'm insulin dependent diabetic and that was reported many years ago but my insurance has never risen. I don't think they'd dare!!!!
Good luck and all the very best. Jan xx
It is necessary to tell your car insurer before you start driving again but not the DVLA unless you are a lorry driver.
There should be no difference in the quote. I had kept my insurance running and phoned my insurer 6 weeks after my quadruple bypass said to them I understand It won't make a difference to my insurance and they agreed and confirmed by email
I have never had to answer any questions about health when taking out a policy. If they don't ask, you do not have to tell them (the law changed a decade or two ago.)
