Learn CPR and Defibrillator training
More people need CPR training. Not enough people do. I am an ex Nurse and Firefighter and seen first hand the benefits of learning CPR ect. I now have my First Aid Instructor qualification and teach Basic Life Support-CPR-Defibrillator training. My own training has helped me in 2 different situations

So with great excitement, a little trepidation and many scar hiding new tops, I’m returning to work today following my open heart surgery. Just mornings initially but was discharged by the cardiac specialist hospital on Monday back to my local hospital. I know that full recovery will be many more months

Can anyone reassure please ? I have been taking Bisoprolol for about 7 years now, and am on the high dose of 5 mgs twice daily now. This keeps my heart rate around 60 when I am sitting. Sometimes, if I am being lazy, the rate can be as low as 55, but perks up once I start doing things. However, this

Persistent afib treatment options, can't tolerate Amiodarone - so many questions...
I'm feeling rather lost at sea, I have so many unknows and questions so I'm sorry if this is a bit messy. Think I'm looking for your experiences and help with what I should ask the cardiologist about/for. BTW we live in the England so NHS. In short... Persistent new onset afib (always bradycardia) since

Anticoagulant changes
I wonder if any of you can advise me please on anticoagulants. I have been on Apixaban for some years and recently when I have had my repeat prescription from the pharmacy the manufacturer of Apixaban has changed four times. With the last one I experienced light headedness and with all of them tiredness

Shingles & needing more heart surgery
My first mitral valve repair has failed sadly after 3 yrs & I need it redone, more open heart surgery..... but a month ago got Shingles. I was unable to take acyclovir as it made me incredibly dizzy & unbalanced. I am in terrible pain after 4 weeks & no sign of it improving though the rash blisters are

braccacardia symtoms
hi all I wonder if someone can give me some advice. I was diagnosed with AF a few years ago and so far my heart rate has been 65bpm when resting. This last 3 weeks resting heart rate has dropped to the low 50’s and twice dropped to 48 bpm. This does make me feel a little faint and sickly. Itake Bisoprolol

Apixaban
Hi there, I take Bisoprolol, Flecainide and until recently Edoxaban anticoagulant . However, spending much time in France I’ve found that Edoxaban is not accepted as a safe drug and I cannot get it in France . I changed to Apixaban which is available , and was previously recommended by my electro-cardiologist

I would like to say thank you to everyone who has replied to my post. Your responses have been very reassuring and I will certainly take on board all the advice I have been given. It seems that the doctors have to give a generalised timeline for recovery, whereas everyone is different and some may

Triple Heart Bypass
Hello, I am new to this community and am looking to find out if anyone has had the same symptoms as I am experiencing. I had a triple bypass 3 weeks ago and I am getting despondent because I don't feel that I will feel any better after 6 weeks which is when they said I could revert more back to normal

Hair Loss on Warfarin
Hi all, I don’t post very often. I’ve been taking warfarin since February 2021 after having two mechanical valves fitted. I know that I will need to see my doctor about this, but I am losing my hair, and it’s noticeable now, especially at the front. Does anyone else have this? What can be done to

Anyone else in the same boat?!
Hi! A quick review! Diagnosed with fast AFib four years ago and HCM a year later. On too many meds to mention! Last October had my first ablation-which the hospital said was successful. Unfortunately, that triggered another arrhythmia called atrial tachycardia. Back in for another- and the last one

After my cardiology review midweek I’m being booked in for an angiogram and it’s been suggested I will be considered for an aortic valve replacement in the next couple of months. It seems the fact I get breathless on exertion and my valve is only 25% of the diameter it should be puts me close to the
