Mixed feelings about hospital too busy to review 12 months after ablation.
I am now 12 months NSR after successful ablation and experiencing mixed feelings."Reviewed without contact .No follow up planned." If I run into problems contact them & they will arrange a follow up. I just have a few questions. 1.I need to know what I can expect from now on. 2.As it over 2.5 years

Facebook group for parents of children with heart block
Hi! My daughter was diagnosed with heart block when she was a year old. I've found it really hard that so little information is available about heart block in children, and there is no specific group for affected families in the UK. I am sure that lots of families have useful knowledge and experience

Discomfort 8 weeks post ablation
So sorry to ask a question again. I live on my own and things get worrying. Had ablation 8 weeks ago and after 10 days felt great. Walking well etc etc. 3 days ago I started to feel chest discomfort and aching in my back. My Apple Watch says I am in sinus rhythm and 65-75bpm but the trace is all over

Has anyone else had previous open heart surgery and had burning pain and discomfort in left side of ribs, back and sharp pains in chest? I know this is all part of the healing process but the burning pain and discomfort has started in the past week, which is my third/forth week after surgery. I expected

feeling alone
Hello, I wondered if anyone else felt like this? I have a very rare heart condition and require open heart surgery very soon. It’s all come as a big shock as I didn’t know I had one. I don’t feel typical feelings of anger or worry etc. I feel really lonely. Most things in life someone can go through

Three weeks after open heart surgery
During the day I feel ok, walking around, doing light jobs around the house. In the morning I feel sore and struggle to get out of bed, in the evening I have a painful pain across my left breast, ribs and down my back and continues even after taking painkillers.

Possible carotid artery problem discovered 3 weeks after double heart bypass surgery.
My hubby has been home for 2 weeks after his bypass surgery, and because of an ongoing vision problem, it's now suspected that his carotid artery also has blockage(s) and clots are happening. He's going to have an ultrasound urgently. Poor man, still very much recovering from surgery. Is this familiar

Return of the Duck. The Saga Continues.......
Good morning guys and gals.Hope everyone is as well as they can be. Well, here's the promised update from a couple of years ago but to be fair, nothing much had happened on the heart surgery front, I'd been in nsr and I have still been contributing replies. Settle down with a strong drink of choice,

Which option for surgery
My dad has been waiting for open heart surgery for a valve replacement for 2 years. He is now faced with a second option, TAVI, rather than open heart. Does anyone have any experience or helpful advice? We are researching for him so that he can make an informed decision. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Back Pain
Can anyone tell me what painkillers I can take for persistent low back pain. I have tried most of them but for some reason nothing seems to work. I have heart failure and CKD, so can’t take Ibuprofen. At the moment I’m on dihydrocodiene and paracetamol which I know is strong but unfortunately it doesn

confusion
I have just read the many replies to Hammerhead . His post was about his “ open heart surgery “ in Papworth , due in June. The reples show me how technically “ uninformed” I am . May be that is a good thing for me. But , I have to confess to being slightly jealous of other people’s care. in 2000 I

Bra tips
Hi, I would like some help. I had some very comfortable supporting bras bought from my heart surgery.Alas these haven't offered much support at all after my breast procedure and became too tight. I had underestimated how big my boob would swell after surgery, the haematoma and seroma didn't help Ideas

Most effective ablation method?
I am scheduled to have open heart surgery (OHS) to replace my aortic valve and while my chest is open the surgeon said they believe it would be a good time to perform a Maze ablation for my persistent afib. FYI: I was diagnosed with afib and tach back in 2008 - both were controlled well with flecainide
