Consequence of morning blood test and taking Levo night before
My TSH result is low at 0.02 as reference range is 0.3 to 4.8. I did not know I was having this blood test so took my usual daily dose of 125 MCG Levo the night before. Could this explain the out of range blood test result? How much extra Levo goes into the blood 12 hours after taking it? I usually

Confused 🤷♀️
I’m nudging 70 and in November decided to lose some weight. I have about 5lbs to go and have lost 1st. I recently had a blood test which has shown my LDL (4.11) and HDL (2.39) have risen as has my BP. I follow a fasting ( 5days until 1pm and 2days until 7pm) and low carb (not keto 100-150g) diet of loads

Understanding a British NHS Cholesterol test
I have the results of a Cholesterol test (British NHS). I was told it would include advanced lipid results, but it only has nothing like the info given in a test in the US. The numbers are also very different. Any help interpreting this, would be greatly appreciated.

How to bring cholesterol level down
I have been advised by my GP that because of my age now increasing my cholesterol is now on the higher side (5). They have suggested that I lower my level by diet. I do a Pilates class once a week, which is my main exercise, I use a wheelchair so it's not like I can go walking to help bring my weight

Statins question
I've just got off the phone with a doctor as I want to come off my statins now my cholesterol level is normal and try to control it via a drug free route (any helpful info here would be useful!). She was very nice but after saying the 'recommendations' (a word she used a lot) for someone with angina

MRI Results
Rheumy phoned me this morning with my recent MRI of my head results. Good news is nothing sinister found and no GCA evident, which is to be expected as the steroids are doing what they should. But it has shown cardiovascular disease and I have been asked to contact my GP for blood pressure, Hba1c and

More on SAD and keto
I haven’t had a problem with alcohol, just the standard American diet ie SAD diet. It’s pretty standard in keto world that HDL goes up and triglycerides go down. When you go low carb you almost invariably go high fat. Thus it would seem to me to lower the saturated fat in blood plasma keto is the way

Influence of Cholesterol on Cancer Progression and Therapy - Translational Oncology - Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2021
From early on in my cancer journey, I have been interested in the role of cholesterol in cancer(s), of which I have two, PCa and CLL. Cholesterol seems to be a major player in both of them. It is also one of my 4 Horsemen of the PCa Apocalypse (so named by Don Pescado) of Glycolysis, Inflammation

Kidney disease (category 3) and rising cholesterol level
Does anyone have cholesterol issues? I am so happy that stopping dairy and watching my protein intake (mostly plant based now) has helped me raise my gfr from level 3 to level 2 but yesterday’s meeting with my dr revealed that I now have cholesterol issues. Hard to believe...I was always a low carb eater
