Conflict between urine microalbumin and creatinine levels
I am a 52 yrs old man, an engineer from Sudan. I am on Crestor 10mg since 2007 with controlled lipid profile except HDL around 40mg/dl, also on Telmisartan 40mg since 2010 which reduced urine microalbumin from 50 to 26 mcg/l. I am a neither diabetic nor hypertensive. Recently my PB dropped down to 60

Advice on hypothyroidism test results.
Hi I hope this is ok. I am looking for some advice on my thyroid test results. I have had 3 blood tests over the past year. My first test result shown my serum free T4 level was low at 9.0 but my TSH was normal at 3.06 miu/L . The doctor wanted to test again 2 months later. I had similar results but

Blood test question
I need to book next blood tests. I’ve always had my bloods done first thing, no food or hot drinks, no thyroid meds until after test etc. I’m not sure whether I need to do this any more. I’ve been on T3/T4 combo since November 2020. I have raised cholesterol, average results around 7, was 8 and has been

Cholesterol and hypothyroidism
I was wondering if there is any relationship between these, had mine checked they aren’t like really bad but my
HDL
is a bit low and my total
cholesterol
is a bit high. I don’t know, could be diet related also.

Update on my 18 year old daughter with secondary hypothyroidism, and a TSH query
I haven't posted on here for a while but I received some really helpful advice early on this year when my daughter was very ill with chronic fatigue caused by probable secondary hypothyroidism and iron deficient anaemia. We initially saw a fairly unhelpful endo who refused to prescribe more than 40mcg

Just sharing my recent experience. I’m in my early 50s, male, not overweight and very active. Blood pressure fine, etc. No medications. For a few years, I’ve had slightly high cholesterol (total 5.6, LDL 3.4, other figures and ratios are good). I did have a heart CT scan abroad out of curiosity three

Subclinical hypothyroidism and cholesterol levels in blood
What is meant by subclinical hypothyroidism (if anything) has been the subject of much agonised debate as to whether or not to supplement with T4. Niacin. Your thoughts?
I didn't find any hard evidence. Part of niacin converts into NAD+. I don't think that would be good. And the proven HDL increase doesn't seem to make much difference in actual cardiac risk (perhaps HDL is a marker and artificially changing it doesn't affect the root contributors to cardiac risk?).
