Jaw tightness with Sinemet
Whenever I take my sinemet and it starts to work, about half an hour after taking it, I get this tightness in my jaw which affects my speech. It’s like my jaw is wired shut. This goes away as the meds wear off. Very frustrating. I can either take my meds and be able to function but can’t speak well or

Symptoms
I was reading some other posts and I wondered about my symptoms and why they seem to be worse than any one elses. I was diagnosed in 2013 and have progressed pretty fast. I now have to use a walker to walk and I feel "drunk" everyday. And no, I don't drink. My eyes don't work well anymore and I

Hi I’m new to this site, but glad to join. As background: I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2016. I began treatment in 2017 with the Agonist NeuPro. All was good for a year till I developed a reaction at the patch site. I discontinued the patch and started with 2mg Ropinirole, which was later increased

Is there an RLS/PLM medication suitable for Driving?
Hi. I'm a Train Operator and have suffered with RLS/PLM for many years. Until now I've been able to manage mild symptoms and only really suffered if I was over-tired or exhausted. The condition runs in my family and my Mum was prescribed Sinemet and my sister is taking Ropinirole. My symptoms have recently

How do hormones affect PD?
I understand it affects more women than men. How we differ from women; More testosterone, less estrogen. I think maybe 10 years ago there was a book titled, The Testosterone Syndrome. The upshot was cruciferous veggies helped keep these hormones in balance. Specifically DIM was the active

Less sinemet more often
Has anyone tried to take less sinemet more often throughout the day? I have been experimenting with this for a few months now and it seems to keep me on a more even playing field. So, Rather than take one sinemet three times a day, I take a half a sinemet six times a day. I was getting side effects from

My Mucuna Trip. Enjoy the humor!
After reading Stevenmast’s post from July titled “Mucuna my natural protocol” I was very interested in trying the NutriVitaShop brand of Mucuna Pruriens with Matcha Green Tea. Previously I had used Barlowe's 40%. When my powder arrived, I eagerly whipped up a batch of tea and added Mucuna, and gulped

Personal experience with vitamin b1, thiamine?
I was diagnosed with young onset PD IN 2010, at age 40. Then,10 years later, I found I was losing my balance and re-diagnosed as Parkinsons plus, only they don't know what the plus is. The suspicion is ataxia, of which there are over 300 varieties. All of this to say I have nothing to lose. I am trying

I would suggest given responses / dialogue ive seen here that if you have been on sinemet every 3rhs 24/7 ish and you can stop with little or no effect.....you might want to question an idiopathic PD diagnosis. cheers...........hang tough.

Why do I fall forwards?
I left Wyoming three weeks ago. Now I'm in our new home in Connecticut. I spent the past few days hiking amid myriad 300-year old fences. Three years ago I found there was a problem while attempting a marathon. My balance was off to the point of bending at the waist and falling on my hands

Balancing diabetes with PD
Between a rock and a hard place. My husband is 26 years into PD. He is now also pre diabetic. How can you balance what foods to eat. Too many carbs turn into sugar and too much protein stops PD meds working properly. He tried Metformin but felt it was affecting his PD. The more carbs he has the more

RYTARY OR SINEMET, WHICH WORKS BEST AND CAUSES MILD OR NO DYSKINESIA OR DYSTONIA?
Hi Friends, Diagnosed as a Yopd patient. I need your honest opinion as regards Rytary and Sinemet,I am roughly 4yrs on this PD journey, and have been on sinemet with less severe side effects, until recently the ''on period'' of Sinemet decreased to 2hrs instead off initial 4 or 3hrs.I then had to dose

Stalevo
My doctor just changed my prescription from Sinemet to Stalevo. Does anybody have experience taking Stalevo? I am afraid to have hallucinations with Stalevo.

DYSKINESIA vs DYSTONIA
i've been wondering after reading many posts here, whether I know the difference between dystonia and dyskinesia. My PD was preceded by the onset of vocal cord dystonia which means the vocal cords are very tight which makes it very difficult to speak. I get severe abdominal wall muscle tightness when
