How do hormones affect PD?

I understand it affects more women than men. How we differ from women; More testosterone, less estrogen. I think maybe 10 years ago there was a book titled, The Testosterone Syndrome. The upshot was cruciferous veggies helped keep these hormones in balance. Specifically DIM was the active component. Di-indolele methane.

There is a thread circulating about broccoli extracts as a treatment for PD. I took Sinemet for two years, Never really felt it affect me for good or bad. But as I sit here I'm having a smoothie: Made with broccoli, Cauliflower, and just enough apples and bananas to cover the bitterness.

I don't feel bad. I never have the typical PD signs. Other than hand tremor and mild balance problem.

In the best spirit of support I (maintaining one's sense of humour) I don't think I can even try to sample your smoothie. It sounds like a regurgitated meal from yesterday. On a serious note I hope you can reap some benefit from trying it.

Thanks for reminding me, I need to mix up a fresh batch, cauliflower, apple and honey smoothie for today. I'm out of broccoli.

LOL. I’ve tried green smoothies before. I’ve learned the worst part was getting them past my eyes! They actually don’t taste half bad, esp. with a little pineapple to sweeten. (Just not after 8 pm.)

Today's smoothie is a rich, green color but this web doesn't allow photos.

Really? I didn’t realize that.

When I start a conversation I have the option of adding a photo but not for adding a photo to ongoing conversations. Maybe I'm not computer-literate enough.

Broccoli sprouts are easy to grow. You grow them in a mason jar with a screen lid. They pack a punch of good nutrients.

You might consider bio-identical hormones through your doctor.
