I have early onset and have been taking x5 Sinemet 100 per day and a slow release at night for 3 years. I am Getting off periods now where I become very rigid and slow in movement and thinking. Specailist prescribed Xadago as an extra med to stop the off periods and make sinemet more effective. Start with 50 mg for 2 weeks then increase to 100mg. I’m on wk 3 and no massive improvement so far. How long will it take to know if it works for me? Has anyone tried it and it didn’t work? GP said it may take up to 4 months or perhaps instant or perhaps varies person to person? And does it make any difference if it is taken morning vs night? Anyone’s experience? This drug has only been available on PBS in Australia since April and I don’t know anyone else on it.

How long for Xadago to take effect and better to take it morning or night?
My husband was in Asilect and came off it to start Xadago. When he started he noticed a difference within a week . He started on 50mg and then went to 100mg , he takes it first thing in the morning before he eats , I don’t know if taking it on an empty stomach is better or not .
My husband started on Xadago in May 2019. It wasn’t readily available then. ( We are in Australia too). My husband’s main symptom was extreme apathy. It made a little difference, but not enough to get him off the bed. Like all drugs, it varies so much from patient to patient.
I started him on Mannitol late 2019 and that turned his life around.
I started Xadago last December, 25mg a day for first two weeks then 50mg per day. It made a huge immediate difference from the first day on 50mg. Big reduction in orthostatic hypotension and in brain fog. Later tried 100mg, 50 early and 50 midday. This had to stop, I couldn’t stay awake.
