What does a 'false negative' result with a coeliac blood test mean?
I was given my blood test results this morning by the receptionist at our surgery - I have to wait another week until I get to see a doctor to actually find out more details and she just read out to me what she could see on the screen. I have been getting IBS-type symptoms since earlier this year

What triggers you?
Since I've no prescription painkillers to ease a flair up, I have been considering lifestyle changes that could help. This week, I am going to try a gluten-free diet as recommended by a website I was reading earlier today. I've tried many things over the years, but I still haven't found what triggers

Dermatitis Herpetiformis - does it look like this
It has been a while since I gave an update on Zac’s condition - www.feedingmyintolerantchild.com This week we had a distressing new symptom to deal with and I wanted to share it with everyone – just in case anyone else is going through this and is as puzzled as me. Zac has been ill with his intolerances

Pizza Hut UK launch a new Gluten Free pizza - or do they?

Does anyone have arthritis caused or triggered by Coeliac disease?
If so, does yours relieve when you are following a strict gluten free diet or not? The latest theory is that my spondyloarthritis and enthesitis could be related to coeliac disease (in the same was as crohns or colitis can link), though from what I have been reading coeliac arthritis relieves a lot

Hi guys!!! Newbie here and I have some questions!
Well, they have just sent away the test to find out if I have Coeliac's. I have a few questions that my doc struggled to answer. Bit of background. I am 27 and have been having problems with my stomach for around 2 years. However have had some minor problems in the past. My symptoms have been

New to the forum
Hi Everyone, I am new to the forum, I have no diagnosis of coeliac. My background is that I have been suffering with bad migraines and headaches for 40 years. I have been trying everything I can think of stop them. I went on gluten free diet in June this year and felt healthier but the headaches did

Does anyone else have both Coeliac Disease and IBS?
I was diagnosed with Coeliac Disease 4 years ago and have stuck religiously to a Gluten free diet ever since. In May of this year I began experiencing severe abdominal pain with mucousy diarrhoea occasionally streaked with blood. I had a Colonoscopy followed by a CT Scan which both showed no abnormalities

So happy
So this is not really a question, but I just wanted to put something out there - which is how lucky i feel to have figured this all out somewhat. Coeliac disease immunotherapy that would replace a gluten-free diet begins clinical trial
Some way off but likely to be a possibility in the future. What's your view? http://medcitynews.com/2012/09/celiac-disease-immunotherapy-that-would-replace-a-gluten-free-diet-begins-clinical-trials/

Yeah! Ate out succesfully.........!
Hi I took my daughter who eats a gluten free diet out for tea, we thought we would have to have the usual, plain jacket potato or salad but we went past Nando's so we went in to ask. The staff were really helpful & gave us their allergy advice manual which listed all their dishes & what allergies & sensitivities

How long does it take for diarrhoea to settle?
I was diagnosed with CD at the start of August. I am following the gluten free diet strictly, avoiding contamination and avoiding lactose too as this seems to create havoc. However, diarrhoea is still the bane of my life and a bit unpredictable. When might this settle? Immodium has no effect.

GF + Exercise = Ketosis?
I suffered for years with IBS, but was finally put on a gluten-free and lactose-free diet to see if it would help. I'd started losing weight, my symptoms were so severe, dropping one and a half stones (21 lbs) or so in about a month. (I was 10st9 - 149 lbs - and 6'3, so a little worrying) It sort

Being the difficult one
I've been diagnosed for 2 years now and I never really found it too hard to adjust to the gluten free diet. I feel better and I enjoy cooking and baking more so I've just got on with it. However, lately I have felt a bit bothered shall I say about the limitations this diet has. The other week, for

How to tell if you have Coeliac Disease, Gluten Intolerance or Gluten Allergy
If you think you may have Coeliac Disease it is important to carry on eating foods that contain gluten - in other words eat normally - but visit your doctor and arrange to be tested. This begins with a very simple blood test, nothing to be alarmed about. You will only get a true test result if you have

If you are on a gluten free diet and are still experiencing difficulties or may not feel as well as expected -
I am sharing a list of foods that appear on a US site as probably containing gluten. This is especially useful for coeliacs who have been gluten free for at least two years but do not feel well as it gives them/us a chance to scruitinise thier/our diets to find possible culprits. Many of the foods

Is my blood test result normal?
Hi all. Can anyone tell me what my blood test result means? I am coeliac and have just had coeliac blood test result back of 2.2%, which I am told is normal, unless on gluten-free diet! I was then told 0-4% is normal range. I am confused. Does this mean I am taking in gluten somewhere? As far as I am

Any one else struggling with sticking to a gluten free diet???
I suffer with extreme chronic depression and diabetes but to name just a few medical conditions I have. I am fully admitting that I have absolutely no will power in anything and am under sessions to try and alter my behavior as this also effects my dealing with my diabetes. I was diagnosed in 1987

Help with supermarket shopping!
My teenage daughter has had various health issues during the past year. Was diagnosed with CFS/ME then this year she had thyroid problems with fluctuating TSH (max 7.45) but now seemingly stabilised (and not medicated) - will be reviewed in 3 months. She has had extreme fatigue, aches, swings of mood
