How long does it take for diarrhoea to settle?

I was diagnosed with CD at the start of August. I am following the gluten free diet strictly, avoiding contamination and avoiding lactose too as this seems to create havoc. However, diarrhoea is still the bane of my life and a bit unpredictable. When might this settle? Immodium has no effect.

If your not glutening yourself it should take about a week. If i was you i would go back to the doctor and ask to be referred to a dietician

double double check all your ingredients, your dietitian will help , but I kept a diary when I first went GF and it was 3 months before I was back to my "normal routine" so do persevere you didn't get ill overnight and you will not get well overnight, it creeps up on you until one day you go "ooh I AM feeling better." hang in there

stay strong.

Hi, for me as soon as I stopped having Gluten, it stopped. The only issue I had was with Gluten free porridge so stopped that and now it's stopped completely. Within a week for me:-)

Thanks everyone. I think I'll keep a diary - it would be useful to make the links if there are any. Also back to the docs for a referral to a dietician I think. :-)
