Feeling better....

Hiya..

As the title says I'm feeling much better..I've been sticking to my gluten free diet religiously for about a month and can't quite believe how I feel.

I had my bloods done last week (took 5 attempts in my arms before finally getting it from my hand..not nice) and all is looking good.

My ferritin is 4 but the dietician said that was expected and easily rectified.

Folate is low and my anti bodies are reducing she said it could take a few months to reduce completely.

I have no mouth ulcers and no headaches....even my insomnia seems to have gone.

My dietician has sorted the doctor's out so I can have my prescriptions on repeat rather than me fighting with them. This will be the first time I've ever had my full 14 items.

Thank you all for your support and kind words.

Roo

Xx

Great stuff. Lovely to hear some positive news that you are feeling much better on a gf diet. Brilliant that your dietician has managed to cut through the prescription maze.

don't know what your GP is like but mine let me order up to 20 points worth each month for 3 months so I could try everything out and stock up, which was great, also join Coeliac UK, Glutafin and Juvela and DS websites if you haven't already; as newly diagnosed you will get some lovely goody hampers to help you find what you like best. they also give you loads of gen. re prescriptions (1 box flour = 2 points, 2 pizza bases = 1 point etc..) it's a steep learning curve but well worth the effort. I make super bread with Juvela mixes, pastry with Glutafin but it's all down to taste. look out on the CUK site for a road-show near you and go to at least 1.
