Flare up of Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease after surgical ablation
Hi I had a surgical ablation 2 weeks ago which will be followed by a RF ablation in 3 weeks’ time (the procedure which I am going through is a staged hybrid intervention). Since I was discharged I have been suffering from the symptoms of GORD (bloating, belching, constipation, then diarrhoea, dry cough

BAM, IBS-D. Need a Rant.
Afternoon everyone. Really need to just have a rant today. I've posted loads on here and always received great advice from everyone. Everyone on here really are amazing. Today, I think is just a really bad day, normally I cope ok but today I just feel like it's never going to end. So exhausted and sick

Mtx and pantoprazol?
I really need to take some pantoprazole; however, it seems to not go well with MTX in particular. Before I started MTX (20 mg), I sometimes took pantoprazole 40 mg for 2-3 days to get rid of pain from reflux. It would settle, and I would be fine for a long time. Any experience with pantoprazole while

EC 1mg pred??
I have recently managed to taper to 4mg which means taking all plain tablets. I have had an increase in indigestion/slight heartburn since doing this. I have 3 questions. Is it possible to get 1mg ec? - I'd be willing to pay (if not ridiculous price) If I take some gaviscon (already take 20mg omeprazole

stage 4 endo
hi all, I’m 20 and just been diagnosed with stage 4 endo. My endo specialist has given me a couple of options. Either take norethisterone and see how that goes or surgery for excision. I want a family and he said some women can conceive naturally and others need help. I just wondered what other people

Hunger pain
Does any of you experience hunger pain? Mine is the worst when I don’t eat a lot of calories. I think a healthy person would not have any symptoms eating as much calories as I eat on these “low- calorie” days. I even get very bloated from the hunger.

High platelet count due to iron deficiency anaemia maybe?
Just again when I thought all was going well ! High platelet count from recent blood test shows Platelet count 515 10*9/L Platelet count has been abnormal for some time, but never this high. Not sure whether I should request the ferrous sulphate again, OR could it be PMR flare. I have felt pretty

Cholestyramine
My husband has had explosive diarrhea since mid February. After blood tests, stool samples, colonoscopy, and more stool samples, they are not able to determine what is causing the diarrhea. The doctor has prescribed Cholestyramine. Has anyone had experience with this medication and did it help?

Weaning off Omeprazole

Lanzoprazole and side effects
Hello, I am over 2 years past Ivor Lewis oesophagectomy and have been taking Lanzoprazole 15mg once a day, then Gavison at night. I’ve found that my folate and ferritin are low , probably caused by ppi use and wonder if anyone has managed to come off them. I know they have lots of potential bad effects

Is there a difference between Barrett’s tongue and barretts oesophagus ?
I have been trying to research this since my endoscopy showed “possible Barrett’s tongue” Biopsy has been taken to rule this out which I hope is a positive sign , but does anyone have experience of this term? I understand that it is associated with hiatal hernia although my reflux issues aren’t too

Bile Acid Diarrhoea
I have this condition and take colestyramine daily which controls it well. I recently asked my GP to have my fat soluble vitamins checked (A,D and K, I believe) in a blood test as this has not been checked in a long time. The email! came back saying there was no indication for this. The literature

Leflunomide, Mycophenolate, Azathioprine instead of TCZ, that was the question
Thanks for your help in answering this question. It seems Leflunomide is the only real contender. So much so that my cynical self wonders if the other two are only there to give the illusion of choice! Any more info about your experience of Leflunomide is very welcome. Not rushing into anything, and
