Lymph Node Transfer
Hi there! I am new to this site and looking for some advice. Since having a mastectomy and node clearance for BC almost five years ago, I developed lymphedema of the arm which has gradually got worse (almost 70% increase :-( ) I have been fortunate to be listed on the NHS for a lymph node transfer

Greetings from my right breast
Hi all, I'm 55 and my father's sister died of breast cancer in her 40s or 50s and my mother's mother was successfully treated for it in her 60s (full mastectomy both sides with lymph nodes). In a couple of weeks I am getting my first ever needle biopsy on a mass I have had since say 10 or 11, as well

CLINICAL TRIAL w/ ALISERTIB
After 4 cycles of Ibrance along w/ Fulvestrant injections another tumor appeared in my left breast that continues to grow. The 1st tumor that I discovered initially in that breast went away after 16 rounds of intravenous chemo in 2017. A mastectomy was not done as my cancer had already metastasized and

I've been following the posts and find them all helpful and inspirational. This is the first time I've posted. I had stage 1 breast cancer in 2016. A lumpectomy and 21 rounds of radiation (so it wouldn't come back). I was done, put it behind me and moved on. In March, while bathing, I noticed several

Removing implants!
I would appreciate hearing from anyone that has removed their implants or did not do reconstruction after mastectomy. I am considering removing my textured implant due to the talk of a new possible lymphoma derived from it. I only had one side done and I do not want to replace with another implant. How

Breast implant associated small cell lymphoma!
I am wondering if anyone is confronted with this. I had a saline implant post mastectomy in 2012. I received a letter from my plastic surgeon stating that the FDA has put out new data stating that the texture of the implant, saline and silicone can lead to this new cancer which is not related to breast

Cancer cells returned in juncture of joining, after total gastrectomy.
Had difficulty swallowing, yet again, so endoscopy requested. They took biopsies and sadly turns out cancerous cells have been found. CT scan thankfully did not find anything so PET scan was done today. Now got to wait 4-5 days for those results. I am wondering if the cancerous cells could have been

Breast Implants possibly the cause of my Connective Tissue Disease!
Hi all, I need to first thank Eekt (thank you! thank you!), who brought this to my attention by posting an article on this site about 4 months ago regarding the links between breast implants and autoimmune diseases. Since that time, there has been a flood of new information, not least of which is an

Temporary Stop to running...
Treatment will be confirmed on Thursday but it’s likely to be aggressive chemo, surgery for complete
gastrectomy
, followed by more chemo. I’m utterly bewildered as I’ve never smoked, have 2 drinks max per week and eat pretty much healthily.

EP in Wales
I wonder if anyone can recommend a good EP/Cardiologist in South Wales. I moved to Wales about 18 months ago and have had several health issues since. Unfortunately I've been really disappointed - well actually appalled, at the NHS in Wales. I had an ablation about 2 plus years ago at Bristol

Need some moral support please
I’m a healthy 63 year old — but for the darn MBD dx June 2018! I still bicycle etc. When I was first diagnosed stage 2 with mastectomy in 2004, I prayed I’d see our daughter through high school. When I was diagnosed stage 3 in 2014, her first year of college, I was thrilled to watch her graduate last

How do I know
I was diagnosed with stage IIIb lobular carcinoma in April of 2011. I had health insurance under the expanded Medicaid (thanks to the ACA) after 7 years of no coverage thanks to my pre-existing condition (thyroid cancer in 1999). I went through a lumpectomy followed by mastectomy, 6 months of chemo,
