False Pretences
I do not know if I have lupus. I suspect that I do not. However, I found an interesting thread on this site which seemed to reflect some of the gastric problems that I have been experiencing for the past six months or so. So I apologise now if I am here under false pretences and will understand if you

Apparently there's nothing wrong with me??
I can't find my original post, it may have been deleted when the Forums were being worked on. Quick recap: In February I developed a terrible cough that didn't go away. It progressed to nighttime coughing and then eventually wheezing after coughing. I went to the walk in clinic where I was told I

utterly in a tiz about my condition
Tight chest, as if I'm being strangled, hard to breathe, cough... -it was thought I had asthma, but it is now thought perhaps not, perhaps its allergies. I have seen bits about xolair on the web, and it seems to say the allergies it could possibly help include dustmites, mould, cockroaches and pets

had a chest xray today
I had a chest x-ray today, I was surprise at how nervous I was. I didn't realize I had a cough since the 12 of feburary this year. Reading the paper the gp gave me to take to the hospital made me even more nervous, but I think if I'm being honest with my self its because my chest is still hurting not

Am I being silly?
My husband was diagnosed as terminal in Dec and was supposed to get chemo in Jan. The pleural effusion was not malignant when results came back so then stage 2-3. He had brochoscopy, Pet scan, another bronchoscopy and was referred to Papworth where he was told removal of lung was a curative option.

My Mum - the saddest day
Hi all, I am typing this as I sit by my Mum's side in hospital. Dad was advised to call my brothers & I in yesterday morning in the early hours & we have all been here since. Mum is very peaceful due to medication & we have had time to tell her all we want to, I've had some lovely chats (all one-sided

Chemotherapy after Surgery
Two weeks ago my husband had a right upper lobectomy and lymph node sampling. He was discharged last week but to our suprise was given an appointment to attend the hospital on Monday only 13 days after the operation. It transpired that they were concerned that my husbands lung had not inflated fully

Breathlessness: What happened next............
Hi all, Thought maybe you might like to know what happened yesterday at the hospital, after developing breathlessness last week. Fortunately I had an appointment pre booked with the synovitis nurse (which I assume is the same as rheumy nurse). Can you believe it, the very day I'm feeling so out of breath

Too scared to ask for pain relief
I was diagnosed with Fibro last week after many months of pain and fatigue. My doctor said there is nothing they can really do and did not offer me any pain relief. He has arranged for an ECG and chest x ray as I have allot of chest pain at the moment (he wants to rule out heart problems for my peace

Constant productive cough and voice problems
I'm new to this site and am looking for some information from people more used, if that'sthe right word, to asthma. I'm 64 and had asthma as a child, which resolved in my teens. I've always been a bit 'allergic' - nettle rash etc and I have perennial rhinitis. I think I picked up a viral infection in

Really worried about my breathing / asthma - anyone with these symptoms?
Hey guys, Great forum, been looking for something like this. Basically here is my story: I'm 32. Had asthma all my life, but very rarely gave me trouble - only if playing sport etc would I get a bit wheezy. Smoked on / off for 10 years. Averaged maybe 5 a day if that, sometimes months without one

Asthma
Hi, I seem to have developed asthma in the last month or so. I thought I had a chest infection or something. My GP measured my breath strength with a peak flow meter and I was pathetic. I was sent for a chest X ray and given Becotide and Ventolin inhalers. Is there any connection with RA or MTX or

Professor Hughes' blog October 2011
- October 2011 A lovely autumn – still dry in the South East. It’s hard to believe that the London Lupus Centre has been going for five years! We estimate that we have now seen lupus and Hughes syndrome patients from 72 countries! Working here at London Bridge Hospital is a treat – overlooking

Two years old and tenth visit to hospital
Have looked at this for first time tonight as I lay in my sons hospital bed with him and so pleased to finally realise we are not alone. My son has now had ten overnight hospital stays. Tonight is our second night of this episode. He just needs to have a slight cold for me to panic because I know now

Toddler who possibly has asthma - advice and help desperately needed.
My son is 20 months old. I was home on maternity leave with him until his 1st birthday. During that time he was only ill once with bronchitis when he was 5 months old. It was treated with antibiotics and he was fine after that. He started nursery a week before his 1st birthday and since then he has

Possible Asthma Diagnosis - Need Advice from Parents who know more!
Hello About three weeks ago my 'almost' three year old Son had the start of a bad cold. He was snotty and obviously off colour. His breathing was very laboured during the night and the next day he was prescribed antibiotics by the Doctor. His symptoms disappeared over the next few days and he didn't

Persistent flutter in throat and breathlessness
Hi everyone I had asthma as a child and grew out of it by my teens. Didn't seem to have any trouble with it but just lately I've developed this flutter in my throat which makes me cough. Sometimes it feels like a rush of air like I've been winded. Sometimes it feels like theres fluff stuck in my throat
