POEM?
This is logical when you consider that there is no equivalent of the
fundoplication
'wrap' to combat reflux with POEM. There is a more detailed description of the procedures in 'A Patient's Guide to Achalasia' that you can download from www.achalasia-action.org

Wish I could eat
I had Nissen
fundoplication
surgery to correct hiatal hernia and reflux. That occurred in mid July. I am having problems eating the most recent of which is that i will start to eat and then have to spit up phlegm, lots of it. Afterward, I can often continue to eat with no problem.

Hi there I’ve had the nissen 360 in 2017, coming up on 2 years now. I’ve had the chest pain, belching, gas bloat for a while now and have been referred back and due for an endoscopy end of Aug. Most recently I’ve had a sore throat (burning) and now in the last 2 days my tongue is sore (red patch centre

Laryngeal reflux HELP
In 2008 I was diagnosed with laryngeal reflux had
fundoplication
surgery. Now 10 years later have same symptoms. Sore throat, hoarness, ringing ears, post nasal problems. I also have inflammation in my eyes which I have read can occur because of this reflux.

Nissen Fundoplication
I had my
Fundoplication
in 1998 and I know one of the main complications of this surgery is the inability to burp or to vomit. I've just gone thru a very disturbing night sick with Norwalk virus I suddenly began throwing up. I thru up for the better part of two hours.

Laparoscopic Nissen Fundoplication, post op advice
I have had the Laparoscopic Nissen
Fundoplication
op 6 weeks ago. I am finding things difficult and still experiencing silent acid reflux. May I ask if you have undergone the Nissen op and how long is it before I see the benefits. Also, your experiences post op would be very helpful.

Nissen Fundoplication
Has anyone here had this procedure? I am currently on the waiting list, I am looking for a little more information on this? Does it make you loose a lot of weight because of not being able to eat much? Thanks, Sophie x

Acid reflux after oesophygal dilatation
Hi Everyone I had a nissen
fundoplication
classic wrap on 25 July. Suffered dysphagia for 4 weeks until I went for oesophygal dilatation on 22 July. Since then I have had such terrible reflux, worse than I have experienced before. I take Nexmezol which takes forever to go down.

Nissen Fundoplication post sugery upper throat inflammation.
I had the nissen
fundoplication
October 2017. The surgery went well, and no reflux. However, about February 2018 (4 months post surgery) my upper back throat, and uvula became very sore, and inflammed. Everything burns passing by upon eating.

Nissen Fundoplication Post-Op.
I had a Nissen
Fundoplication
over 14 months back. Everything was going fine. I had no reflux, No pain or burning in my throat and still don't but I've noticed in the last week, My food seems to be sticking a little bit but still going down if that makes sense.

Fundoplication /anasthesia worries Operate ...or Not
Made worse by the fact that
fundoplication
itself may not work and its a long hard road to recovery on that operation for even a normal person. I am worried about the outcomes and look for some guidance on what I should do.
