Chronic Coughing
I believe that she has GERD and that the hernia should be treated and possibly a
fundoplication
may be needed. We would welcome some advice. Regards

GERD: Esophageal Erosion and Ulcers
The most common surgery to treat GERD is
fundoplication
surgery. During surgery, the upper curve of the stomach (the fundus) is wrapped around the esophagus and sewn into place so that the lower portion of the esophagus passes through a small tunnel of stomach muscle.

Charity skydive
Soon I will be on the waiting list for a double lung transplant ( have to have a
fundoplication
first) and my niece would like to do a sky dive to raise money for The Lung Foundation I was just wondering if she has to pay for the sky dive or is there a way they would pay and she gets the sponsorships

GERD - disappointing results from a trial of Endoscopic TIF versus PPI - recommends caution.
"A next-generation endoscopic
fundoplication
technique may improve outcomes, if equipped with a more solid suturing or stapling mechanism to better withstand intraabdominal traction forces and warrant durability," he said. Dr. Robert A.

Parietal cells in the oesophagus?
I haven't had an oesophagectomy but had a Collis-Nissen
fundoplication
(repair) a few months ago. The Collis procedure effectively extends the length of the oesophagus by using a wedge section of the stomach - in much the same way as the stomach is used to form the oesophagus in an Ivor Lewis.

Minimally invasive oesophagectomy
From the front, the students' observations were that he'd had a
fundoplication
. They needed to see the small plaster on the puncture wound over his shoulder blade to realise it had actually been an oesophagectomy.

Typical!
As I had a
fundoplication
2 yrs ago I can't eat anyway so everyone sat down to their dinner at 3pm. I don't mind saying I felt terrible. I had my nebuliser which helped a bit to breath. We continued with presents until 5pm, then my daughter cleared everything up and did a quick tidy for me.
