New and could use some advice
I'm new and not yet diagnosed. I have a call with the GP on Friday, but to be honest I've not had the best service from my GP unless I go in well informed. I'm mainly worried about a variation in TSH in a short time. I have a family history of hypothyroidism and currently take no medication what so

I had been seeing a Functional doctor privately but lost job and cannot really afford a consultation at the moment. secersl years ago a Bluehorizon test showed high RT3 and I was put on liothyronine 50mcg per day and 50 Levo which I have remained taking to present. My gynae just ran some bloods which

News today.
Has anyone heard the latest news from “Bristol live” that taking Omega 3 fatty acids and fish oil supplements is a risk factor for AF and stroke? I personally don’t take this supplement because it interacts with warfarin, but thought those that do might like to investigate.

Curious…aside from high in range TSH are these frees pretty euthyroid? These were taken before starting thyroid medication. Negative for both antibodies. I’m coming around to the idea that I’ve been misdiagnosed as thyroid medication makes me feel worse. Off meds my TSH can vary from 8-4 within

Levothyroxine concerns.
So I’m about to start 50mcg of Levothyroxine as a trial. I have subclinical Hashimotos. My concern is if after taking the thyroxine for 8 weeks if my TSH comes into normal range but I’m still suffering with symptoms, my GP won’t increase the dose. I asked and they confirmed this. I don’t understand

TSH level
Hi, my daughter’s TSH is 3.7 and she’s on 125mg thyroxine. Although this is the “normal” range. I think it seems high and something isn’t right. Do you agree? Many thanks

Thyroid Lab Error
I've had thyroid disorder now for many years and it's been well managed. Now I'm pregnant and getting tested every month. I had a weird experience where my tested my TSH as 4.8 (0.4-4). That raised alarm bells so I went to a private clinic to get full blood work (FT3, FT4, vitamins and minerals etc.)

Is my 7 year old son hypothyroid?
My son is 7 years old and he doesn't seem to be growing enough, at least in the last year or so. I am suspecting he could be Hypothyroid because of my genes (Hashimoto's and Type 1 diabetes), so we did some blood work: hGH - 0,27 ng/mL (0,05 - 11,00) IGF-I - 74,93 ng/mL (18,00 - 307,00) TSH - 3,574

Asking to learn
Sorry for all the questions but you all have been so helpful. If your hypothyroidism is secondary shouldn't your medication be based on your free levels and not your tsh?

how much to raise by?
I’m taking tamoxifen for breast cancer. It had impacted thyroid levels in the autumn but I only adjusted by a little. Latest test was tsh 5.17 and t4 17 (not taken that day) on 125 for 3 days a week and 100 for 4 days a week. Obviously I’m not very with it now. I think it has been like this for

TSH and FT4 Levels
After round 1 failing I discovered my thyroid was under active. Since then I’ve been on Levothyroxine and today found out my TSH is 2.45 (it was 5.2) and FT4 is 20.6. The doctor has given us the go ahead for round 2 but am unsure if it’s too borderline and no idea what FT4 should be or if it effects

Follow up T3 question
Okay, so, it has only recently reached my consciousness that the fact that my thyroid "died" (I got a goiter and my TSH was only barely above "normal" so at first they didn't want to treat me even though I gained 30lbs in a month and lost all my body hair and on and on) at the exact same moment (literally

TSH higher after stopping Biotin
After decades of telling my doctor that I have all the symptoms of hypothyroidism and being told everything was normal as TSH was between 2.8 and 4 [0.38 - 5.33], I discovered a few weeks back that the Biotin supplement that I have been taking for all of that time could have been interferring with the

Hi I’m new, been following the treads of other people’s issues for some time and realise I too need help to as the Gps don’t give much help or advise. Makes me feel like I’m wasting their time . Still that aside I have just read a thread about HRT and Levothyroxine. I’ve been on Kevo thyroxine for
