Fragmin and bleeding does anyone else get this.
Hi I have started Fragmin 2 days ago the only thing I'm concerned about is today at work I noticed blood coming from one of the injection marks not a lot just enough to know some blood had come out. Does this happen to any one else . Thanks xx

Please can you help? Father has End Stage Liver Disease
Our Father has Alcoholic Liver Disease, Hep B and Hep C due to over 20 years of heroin and alcohol abuse. Three months ago he developed Gross Ascites and went to hospital for the paracentesis procedure. After a few days he felt better and against advice, discharged himself. He was prescribed diuretics

My 'Funny Turns'
Some of you will already know that I have been getting a lot of 'funny turns' initially since early 2010, with a recurrance of 'classical' migraines' treated successfully with Amitriptyline but the 'funny turns' returned in August 2011 and have continued since. These turns start suddenly and I feel

Been gone a bit...Seems I have Hepatitis and they believe it is drug induced from Fragmin.
I have not been very well for over a couple weeks and moreso the past week. Lost 13 pounds...cant eat...just feel terrible. Docs checked blood tests and I have hepatitis...most likely drug induced from Fragmin. THIS makes me very sad...because Fragmin was working so well on my APS symptoms. BUT.

Fever for a week?
Hi all...been a bit of a rough week as I have had a low grade temp all week. Its been from 99.6-101.8 which doesnt seem bad but when it drags out this long it becomes old fast. No source of infection and doc wont put me on an antibiotic unless he can find the problem. No other symptoms that would

Had the surgical breast biopsy Friday
I had the biopsy Friday and I am happy to report NO clotting problems...or bleeding problems!!!! I was SO relieved. The night of the procedure I was home and scared to even sleep without anticoagulation so I stayed up until I could use Fragmin again. The most worrisome part of the whole thing was

Is anyone on Fragmin and need financial assistance with buying it?
Hi all...I just have to pass this on...I am waiting to hear back to see if I qualify for this assistance. Crossing EVERYTHING I have!!! This is from the Manufacturer of Fragmin website. Eisai is offering Fragmin at $0 cost...yes...that is correct. It is income based. Please check out the website

Prof Graham Hughes' April blog
A wet bank holiday. An ‘indoors’ day. Shopping? No. Go to watch Charlton Athletic (my wife’s favourite team)? Neither of us keen to get wet and cold. So, an April blog. An interesting paper was published recently in the journal Rheumatology. In a collaborative study from eight centres in Italy

Is knowing too much a good thing??
Hi this is the first time I've written a blog and so forgive me if I ramble!! I just found HSF and have been reading every body's experience's but now feel slightly worried. I was diagnosed with Hughes when I was 23 after suffering 2 PE's at 21 and then 2 more at 23.I have been on warfarin ever since

Graham Hughes' blog February 2012
A new year, and a promise to myself to reduce the frequency of the monthly blogs – I had in mind a three monthly article, but have already failed on my promise! The monthly international journal ‘LUPUS’ is one of my pride and joys. The February issue of this, the 21st annual volume of the journal

'Funny Turns' and Hughes Syndrome
Having been diagnosed with Hughes Syndrome in 2002 (main symptoms: numb fingers, blind spots, migraines, dizziness, unsteady gait, speach and memory problems) and having seen Prof Hughes, then and subsequently, I was tried first with 75mg aspirin (no effect), then Plavix (no effect), then 5,000IU Fragmin

Ugggh!! Another PE!
Well it's looking like Fragmin for life (or similar LMWH) for me now. No more denial for me- APS has once again slapped my hand hard. Started feeling really strange on Monday, severe chest/back pain continuing. I kept feeling like I was going to pass out and had been drinking wine but it hit me very

Multiple DVT/Stroke Survivor
Hi everyone, Sheila here saying hello! I'm new to this HealthUnlocked forum but not to APLSUK. That forum was one of my first and best sources for information about APS. I'm positive for three antibodies and have survived four DVT's, along with a stroke in my retinal artery which cost me the lower half

Anybody gone from warfarin back to fragmin?
I am wondering whether to ask if I can try going back to fragmin alone. I have been on warfarin for 6 years and right now it is driving me nuts. I think I am in peri menopause and my INR changes everyday. So I am always testing and adjusting my doses. And actually I really want to be able to eat foods
