A Suffocating struggle...
I'm on...
fostair
, qvar, singulair or monteclaust if that's how you spell it. I've a new when bad and of course ventalin. Sometimes my trachea rattles, which is new, but because the Gp don't hear a rattle I feel like they poohoo me.

The drugs
Previously, I was on Aclidinium and
Fostair
twice a day, and using a Salbutamol nebuliser 4 times a day. This was changed and I now use the Aclidinium twice, a new inhaler called Relvar once in the morning, and a Phyllocontin pill twice a day. The difference has been amazing.

I have tried
fostair
as a preventer but it was making my hands tremble and the nurse said it was too strong for my body, however it was helping me to breathe better. I went back to the nurse with the trembles and she put me on Clenil 100mcg.

My sisters asthma
Since November she has had 3 lots of steroid tablets and now she has been put on
fostair
inhaler. GP told her to take 2 puffs twice a day then respiratory nurse at hospital told her to take 3 puffs 3 times a day. Now gp is telling her that is too much.

He has doubled my intake of the preventer/reliever (
Fostair
NEXThaler) and given me some codeine based linctus to suppress the cough. Never been advised before to increase the intake of the preventer/reliever or given something to suppress the cough just to use the reliever more often (Bricanyl).

Hay fever/asthma?
I was switched to
Fostair
(the jury is still out on this) and had a spirometry test as well as a lung X-ray- all came back clear, which was a huge relief. In the last 2 days however I've got a very irritated nose, eyes (less so) and my chest and lungs have felt very heavy/irritated.

Will a one week course of prednisolone give me moon face, and can it be caused by fostair?
I was recently hospitalised with an asthma attack, and have been given a one week course of prednisolone at 40 mg per day, and a
fostair
inhaler. I wanted to ask if the weeks course of prednisolone, or the
fostair
inhaler are likely to give me moon face?

Suffering with chest problems for three months.
This time I got more steroid tablets and a different inhaler '
Fostair
. I asked again if it could be COPD he said he doesn't think so as the sound of the wheeze didn't sound like COPD. The
Fostair
worked straight away relieving the tightness in my chest and the wheeze.

Poor peak flows
I saw the advanced nurse as the steroids were about to run out - I was no better and was put on a reducing dose this time and a change of inhaler to
fostair
. Symbicorts newer version! Saw the asthma nurse a week later and still, the peak flows were 250 to 300.

Increase in severity of asthma
He prescribed a new inhaler
Fostair
200/6 instead of Symbicort 200 which has always suited me really well. He said I most probably had pneumonia but it was too late to treat now. He ordered bloods to be taken and a CT scan which I had two days ago but don't know the results.
