Finding a dietitian
Due to the lack of help via GP, I am doing the low
FODMAP
diet by myself. Amazingly, GP won't recommend names. But I do need nutritional guidance from someone with qualifications and this will have to be self-funded.

IBS and jobs
When my flare ups get bad - they get bad - so I'm stuck in a cycle of 'I can't leave work or they'll fire me but my flare up is so bad, I can't work I'll be stuck in the toilet' I don't have any risk foods, my diet had been low
FODMAP
since I was diagnosed and I've tried buscopan and even different

FODMAP diet not working
Could there be something else labelled as low
FODMAP
that causes other people issues? How long would you go at this before giving it up?

paradoxical B12 deficiency. Might this be my problem? Anybody know how to treat?
I’m gluten, dairy and
FODMAP
free. Low acid problems I think. I take digestive enzymes now. I know that digestive problems are known to cause B12 deficiency due to malabsorption. I’ve been reading up & wondering if my high levels of B12 are masking a deficiency and giving me symptoms.

Those on low FODMAP diet, have you found it makes a difference?
I also have GERD/GORD and am being told to go on a low acid low inflammation diet as well and am also wondering if the low
FODMAP
diet covers this too?

ALFLOREX FOR IBS-C
I managed to more or less control my symptoms by being careful what I ate after trying the
FODMAP
diet and taking Healthspan’s combined probiotic and multivitamin.

Duloxetine
I've been through and done all the
FODMAP
diet and still really stick to that as things are so bad. My consultant has now recommended Duloxetine, which seemed a good idea and option at the time.

Any value seeing a gastroenterologist for ET belly bloat?
Over the next month I'm embarking on a strict
FODMAP
diet to see if that helps. A recent colonoscopy showed a tortous/redundant colon and I think ?? that has only been an issue since commencing hydroxy treatment. I think there could be a connection, so I'm keen to find out.

Food Sensitivities
I did the “Happy Gut” diet a couple of years ago which is low
FODMAP
, vegan and gluten-free. I felt great on it initially and was starting to reintroduce foods when I became really anaemic and had to stop (I don’t think vegan is for me!).

T3 update for @relentless
Weight hasn’t changed much, I’ve doubled down on low carb (not no carb) low
fodmap
paleo. It seems to be working very slowly which is a good thing, no one wants fast weight loss. I was 66kg at diagnosis, 72 on 50mcg T4, 66 on 125mcg T4 and now 65 with 5 weeks on 5mcg T3.

Any ladies going through Perimenopause/menopause? Has it upset your IBS?
I watch my diet so carefully and follow the low
fodmap
diet, I drink only water or mint tea, no diary or gluten/wheat, no fried or spicy foods. In fact I have an extremely boring/bland diet. I have tried all medications for my digestive system but very little helps.

Also, one year ago, I started on the
FODMAP
eating plan(on internet for for reducing intake of indigestible carbohydrates and it has really helped the frequency of diarrhea.

Strange Symptoms - Is this right?
Tried
FODMAP
for a few weeks, Not eating bread etc and Buscopan for relief but nothing helps. I'm posting because it seems like a "reverse" IBS as only triggers after going to the toilet and is a painful soreness below my belly button which extends across.

At my wits end
Since then I've tried the
FODMAP
, I've tried every medication possible but the symptoms are ruining my daily life. I'm scared to leave the house in fear of not finding a toilet in time. I have to take anti D tablets to stop me from going just so that I can go to work.
