Cardiology appointment
He also said that I shouldn’t take
Flecainide
(prescribed as PIP by private consultant) until an ultrasound checked the condition of my heart, I am referred for that, it may take a couple of months. If OK, I can use as a PIP.

AF again
The good news is that after taking extra
Flecainide
and one small 1.25mg Bisoprolol my heart returned to NSR after about 4 hours. Bad news my heart rate was down to 38 when I woke up this morning. Feeling a bit better now but very delicate.

Help!!
Was then tried on
flecainide
as well as bisoprolol. Since then I've been fairly settled until about a month ago when I had a week or so of going into AF and tachycardia but which settled spontaneously with no need for cardioversion (a first for me this year!).

Last week had PIP, 3 x 100mg
Flecainide
and 3 x 25 mg Metropolol over 24 hr period, no joy. Waited out another 6/7 hours nil medication and finally back in sinus. Still was not feeling 100% and as stated in previous post Metropolol does make me feel a bit off.

Permanent AF and drinking alcohol
After being on
Flecainide
for 13 years and my AF well controlled I had to come off the drug in March. I have abstained from Alcohol for around 4 months to reduce potential triggers.

Update re Emergency Room trip etc
He has increased my
Flecainide
to 150mg, twice a day, which is the maximum dose. The best guess is that the metoprolol IV-drip they gave me slowed my heart rate enough so that it reset itself and I didn't need Adenosine or a conversion.

A little advice please
I currently take 100 mgs
Flecainide
twice daily and 3.75 mgs If bi-soprolol. Although I hate the side effects, they have kept me in normal SR for over six months. However, Earlier this week had a 5 hr attack and one started this morning but stopped an hour after medication.

Having a really bad day
if medication (
Flecainide
50 mgs x2 daily) could be causing BP to drop . GP has therefore advised to stop taking morning dose, then after five days of reduced medication to record BP ( sitting and standing) am and pm for four days. Also to get some blood tests done.

Dronedarone
Hello Everybody, I suffer from AF and hadn’t had a session since end of April then suddenly a long session which would not cease with
Flecainide
at 300mg over 24 hours. I went to A and E and had a cardioversion which was successful ( hopefully) and have been prescribed Dronedarone ( Multaq).

Increased number of ectopics
Does anyone know if taking
flecainide
as a maintenance dose prevents ectopics or any other medication that would control them. Thanks

Planned Ablation Fri 14th
Last 8 months, especially since end of May heat have been a bit of a rollercoaster of highs & lows , last episode lasted 25hrs, was quite scary, it was possibly aggravated by
Flecainide
, which I thought was user friendly for me at 1st, but now seems to aggravate joint pain, causing fluid retention .

wobbly legs when dizzy
I have AF and am taking daily Bisoporal and
Flecainide
tablets. I still get dizzy spells when I stand up from sitting down. Sometimes my legs also go very wobbly, even jerky, and I have to hold on to something to stay erect. It normally passes after a few seconds.

Ablation/Inversion update
I am on more bisoprolol & less
Flecainide
than I expected after the inversion, and had this explained to me really well. If I had not, I might have thought I had got it wrong. I think it fair to say expect some skin burns and have cream to prevent blistering after.
