wobbly legs when dizzy

I have AF and am taking daily Bisoporal and Flecainide tablets.

I still get dizzy spells when I stand up from sitting down.

Sometimes my legs also go very wobbly, even jerky, and I have to hold on to something to stay erect. It normally passes after a few seconds.

Is this normal or should I speak to my GP about it?

Sounds like your blood pressure is dropping too low when you stand. I get it occasionally. You might need a 24 hour BP monitor to see what is going on so best speak to your GP.

No, it's not normal. As Bob has said, you need to speak to your GP.

I am (I think) now in permanent AF, and on 5mg Bisoprolol and 5mg Ramipril. I, too, get light-headed sometimes when getting up from a sitting position. This is definitely worse after a drink or two. Incidentally, I called my GP to tell him I thought my paroxysmal AF had become permanent, and he simply told me (over the phone, of course -- "don't come anywhere near me, I'm a doctor"...) to double my dose of Bisoprolol.

At least my permanent AF is currently stable, I feel, and the dizziness/light-headedness has lessened. I would ask your GP to check your BP and reassess your medication. Limit alcohol and make sure you're well hydrated (dehydration can affect your BP). And make sure you get up slowly.

Bisoprolol can lower bp how does that help with dizziness? Can you contact cardiologist/EP for advice re your meds, "only a gp" can he adjust your meds without speaking to cardiologist? My cardiologist would have a canary first 😄best of luck.

That's an Irish saying 😃 - he doesn't allow gps to change meds without consulting him first.😃

I'm Irish, and haven't heard it before, but maybe its from a different part of the emerald isle.
