A little apprehensive.
I would get the odd 5mins of AF which I was told to expect, these episode gradually got longer and would turn into tachycardia (180bpm) this resulted in 2 hospital admissions and a return to 100mgs of
Flecainide
twice a day. Following instructions I has started to reduce the

EP consultation re use of flecainide (aka Tambocor) as a pill-in-the-pocket.
I explained that I have a new GP who is unlikely to prescribe
flecainide
without instructions. I indicated that I realized that
flecainide
is inexpensive and non-addictive but a very powerful drug. Should I be taking a low daily dose?

I'm confused!
When I try to go the PIP route with
Flecainide
, I find that by late afternoon I am getting palpitations and pre-ventricular contractions, which usually respond to a
Flecainide
PIP within an hour, though sometimes last longer. Might this point to Persistent AF rather than Paroxysmal?

Amioderone or not?
It took me a long time to get used to
Flecainide
which made me sick and dizzy at first. But in the end I did get used to it with gradual dose build up and it did stop the AF for a while, and does help with symptoms even now. The same with Bisoprolol which I can now tolerate..just.

premature atiral beats
Has anyone else got these and what to do I have been told to take
flecainide
after he told me to stop taking it. I made my GP ring him to explain to her. I go in this week for a angiogram on kidneys. Don't think I take it until after that and I will see him in hospital.

Ectopics post 3rd ablation
I felt great for ten days then AFib episode where I used PIP with
flecainide
and converted back. So now I'm 7 weeks post op and getting lots of ectopics particularly at the end of the day. I've had 2 more brief AFib episodes which converted back quickly.

Does anyone suffer from 'heart burn' / indigestion a few months after the ablation?
I was due to stop taking all my medication (apart from Rivaroxaban) after a month, but as I was going to the States for a month's holiday, the nurse advised me not to stop taking my meds (
Flecainide
and Bisoprolol) until i was back home.

It's a bit scary eh?
He doubled my dose of
flecainide
and that worked for a day before the AF returned and remained stubbornly for about 10 hours. I think it's really hit me now that this thing is not going away and that even management might be difficult.

Afib forever
I have been in constant afib and flutter since my ablation on May 18th and I am taking xarelto,
flecainide
and bisoprolol I also had a cardioversion on the 23rd which lasted for 24 hours and then went back into afib. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Auntiejo

EP consultation
From his side the options were Amiodarone - I feel that is last resort and I am not there yet,
Flecainide
which I am not keen on but will consider but want to be observed for first dose in hospital in case of Myasthnic crisis - which he agreed was essential.

Efficacy and Safety of Quarter-Dose Blood Pressure–Lowering Agents -- commentary
We also know that some drugs such as
Flecainide
make things worse at high doses therefore, unless there is a good reason (like with antibiotics) to use a high initial dose, probably the best way is to start small and slowly increase.

Initial EP appointment at Barts
He was happy to discharge me today with 14 100mg doses of
flecainide
and will advise my GP to prescribe as needed. He said I should get myself re referred if I develop any co-morbidities, get significantly worse or turn 65 - whichever happens first!

12 months after Cryoablation
I came off my daily dose of
Flecainide
after the 6 month review which may have contributed to the two short episodes, and provided my blood pressure is OK, I'm hoping to dump the Diltiazem after my review in August, but will stay on Apixaban.
