New to this site,I have paf,had mini stroke February , put on amiodarone , this caused eating and drinking pain full , chest pain,so had to come off it,taken to a&e September with bad episode af,put on flecainide , same caused lots of side effects,so waiting to see EP.about ablasion , anyone else had this problem

Hi Maggielo,

Welcome. If you read previous posts you will see that many people are suspicious of amioderone. The general opinion seems to be that you should be on it only in the extreme and for as short a time as possible. Others find flecanide difficult whilst some have no problems with it at all. So you are not alone. It can sometimes take a while to adjust to medication so allow yourself a little time.

Do check out previous posts under flecanide etc. And do talk to your GP regarding your side effects.

I have not had amiodarone but have had flecainide and had bad effects ending up in hospital so now back on Sotalol and waiting for an ablation.

My ep said that although effective, amiodarone would be a drug of last resort for him so maybe should have started you on something less toxic.
