LATE ONSET NEUTROPENIA MAY BE A COMPLICATION OF FCR (or rituximab, obinutuzumab or other anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody infusions - Admin)
Here's another EHA abstract on the under-recognized issue of late-onset neutropenia as a result of
FCR
. I thought that this might be interesting to those of us on this site that have undergone or may undergo
FCR
. See the graph above.

How do I go about getting a second expert opinion without upsetting my haematologist consultant?
I have previously posted on being concerned about still having lumps in my neck during
FCR
treatment. I have now had 5 of the 6 cycles of treatment and the last treatment at best only reduced the lumps marginally.

Husband's anemia (PRCA) interrupted FCR last fall; cyclosporin worked until it was discontinued. We're looking into next treatment steps...
any suggestions or guidance would be much appreciated!

Low platelet count. How long before this recovers ?
However, my platelet count is now 68 and my consultant wants this to recover before my next
FCR
and has put me on Folic acid tablets. Does anyone know how long this might take ? I'm keen to get on with the treatment, feel well, played tennis yesterday and don't feel like a 75 year old ! David.

On FCR and mum has shingles
The title says it all ! Im on round 4 and have a little neutropenia after my chemo's. My mum has shingles which she gets a lot. How long should i stay away for? she had it 2 weeks ago and her rash has just gone. I dont want to risk anything as i believe shingles is bad if your on Chemo.

Rehearsing being 'In Remission'
I'm still feeling a bit "knocked about" by the chemo to be honest, and spent the weekend in hospital with fever and high grade neutropenia three weeks following my last round of
FCR
, but I'm home now, and getting on with the business of recovering.

Is there anything that can be done if lumps in neck remain after 6 cycles of FCR treatment?
Due to have 5th cycle of
FCR
treatment next week and although lumps in neck are much reduced they are still significant in size : two of them about 2.5cm across, one on each side under the jaw line.

Anybody out there had 7 cycles of FCR treatment for CLL rather than the usual 6?
I have had 4 treatments but have concerns, shared by my consultant, that I will still have lumps in my neck after the 6th and final treatment. Wondering what other options there might be rather than just going back on watch and wait with lumps in my neck.

A shorter treatment plan???
Hi, I started
FCR
for cll earlier this year as my WBC was just rising so fast. Im only 45 so it was inevitable that i would need treatment at some point.Because i had lots of little masses my Onc thought it best to start a little early so they didnt become bulky.

My neurologist wants me to go to Madopar CR instead of just Madopar, I'm a bit dubious - has anyone had experience with this drug ? Thanks.

My CLL journey with a bone marrow thingie and FCR thrown in.
After being referred, by my GP, to a consultant haematologist in 2010. She set me down and with little preamble proceeded to tell me that I had CLL. There is no cure she said, but I was in the early stages and no treatment was needed at that time. Shocked and Relieved I took the news like a good trooper

Headaches
Prior to having successful
FCR
treatment for CLL in 2010 I was suffering with severe headaches up to 15 times a month. After the
FCR
treatment they disappeared. In December last year a CT Scan showed that the lymph nodes under my arms had enlarged and were just over 2 cm.
