Bisoprolol withdrawal
My cardiologist (actually 2 of them) looked at an angiogram done a month ago along with the results of a stress echo and recommended coming off the Bisoprolol gradually and changing the Lansoprazole to
Famotidine
.

fbirder are you able to shed any light on whether
famotidine
will cause the same issues as Omeprazole regarding reduction of acid/absorption of B12 or not please?

Anyone taken Famotidine for reflux?
I was prescribed
famotidine
20mg last week by my GP to help with really bad reflux. I already take omeprazole 20mg morning and night. He said to take
famotidine
in addition to this. Just wondering if anyone who’s taken
famotidine
experienced any side effects?

Anti-histamine recommendation without fillers etc?
Hello Everyone, My 16 year old daughter has suspected mast cell overactivity and has been trying out various antihistamines (H1) and has been on
Famotidine
(H2) for a week. So far Clarityn/loratadine has been the best.

Redundant (tortuous colon)
Instead, I was given
Famotidine
and I must say this has had a profound effect as I rarely get stomach pain now, which is amazing. However, I still get acute nausea which is wearing particularly as I get this every day.

Barrett’s esophagus
I was then changed to
Famotidine
but having side effects with this too. I’ve researched diet and know I have to make some changes. Giving up my nightly wine will be the hardest. I keep seeing articles about the use of apple cider vinegar to quiet acid in the stomach.

I'm prescribed
Famotidine
(a H2 inhibitor) because PPIs - I've tried all the 'azoles' - make me feel very ill and I suspect there's definitely an allergy/intolerance thing linked as I also get a lot of rhinitis, nasal drip and itchy inner ears after eating.

Famotidine vs Omeprazole
I understand that I can take
Famotidine
instead of omeprazole up to 24hours before taking the stool test. Has anyone experience of this medication. Is it as effective as Omeprazole or any other ppi?

I’ve had persistent heartburn, acid reflux/GERD related symptoms for 3 weeks? What should I do?
The heartburn / chest pressure seems to be relieved a little bit by omeprazole (strong dose of 40mg morning and before bed), Peptac liquid and
Famotidine
but it seems to be ongoing and constant for about 3 weeks now and is not relieved in a major way by these medicines.

Difficulty getting prescribed H2 Blockers.
This was then withdrawn and since, my pharmacy has not been able to obtain the substitutes which the doctors have subsequently prescribed:-
famotidine
, cimetidine and nizatidine. Does anyone know if these are now available or a similar H2 blocker?

Omperazole and MTX
She agreed, however, to send in a prescription for
famotidine
(Pepsid) which is an H2 blocker and not nearly as effective. My heartburn/acid reflux has been horrendous since I’ve cut back drastically on the omperazole. I was just wondering if anyone else has experience with these two drugs.
