Stony Brook Estrogen Trial for COVID-19.
I recently mentioned that testosterone was an immunosuppressor & that there might be a COVID survival advantage for males with testosterone [T] below 350 ng/dL, say. But when T approaches zero, so does estradiol [E2], because E2 is created from T via the aromatase enzyme. (When E2 is less than ~12 pg

41 Perimenopause? Femoston. History of unusual fibroid- concerns. Help!
Sorry this is quite long as my history of issues is complex. I have been struggling with my health for 6 years (when I was 35) it started with fatigue and headaches then skin issues (tiny blisters on face and rashes on neck & forearms) then horrendous bloating, abdominal pain and finally crippling back

Estradiol vs ADT?
I seek the experience (and even the opinion!) of the hive mind on this: I hear and read occasionally about oestradiol as being equivalent to LHRH agonists for testosterone suppression minus some of the famous nasty side effects. My instinct is that it’s too good to be true but I’m keeping an open

Help to interpret 24 h saliva test results, please
In January ´20, I ordered a 24 h saliva test kit from Genova Diagnostics (overnight delivery using DHL, samples kept refrigerated at all times). The results showed slightly elevated cortisol levels throughout the day. I´d really appreciate comments on the results (reference ranges in brackets): Drugs

CRPC & Transdermal Estrogen
New to PubMed, below [1]. British, but seemingly unrelated to the estradiol PATCH trial. "This study was carried out to determine the safety and effectiveness of transdermal estrogens in CRPC." {Although note the later use of DES.} This was a dose-escalation study. "A starting dose of 50 mcg/24 hours

Confusing Blood Test Results
Hi, I'd welcome your thoughts on recent results please, some seem a bit strange and I'm unsure whether I need to change dose (currently on 50mg Levothyroxine and 25mg Liothyronine). I had the test at 9am, fasting and took meds after the test. I use the Better You sprays for Vit D and Vit B, and also

Terrified of more ADT, looking for advice
In 2015, I quit ADT 12 months into a 24 month sentence because I couldn't stand it any longer. PSA rising 4 years later. Terrified. Looking for advice. To elaborate: The side effects: fatigue, hot flashes, sexlessness, mental fog, aches, and depression became overwhelming at about the 8 month mark.

IVF Day 5 of Gonal-F
Hi all, so I've been doing stim injections of Gonal-F, tonight is my 5th one. I've had 2 scans in the past few days. I have quite a few follicles (she never told me how many, but I counted at least 10 to 12 on the screen!). They are all still quite small... the first lady said they are all under 10mm

Blood test results
Hi everyone, I'm new here. I'm worried about numbness in my arms and pins and needles at night (Sometimes arms can feel heavy / weak all day). I also have recent anxiety (Never had it like this before). Sometimes I can't sleep and other times I'm falling asleep in my feet. The brain fog is awful

Estrogen Receptor-β and Progesterone Receptor
New study below [1]. "The roles of estrogen and progesterone in human prostate carcinogenesis have been only recently recognized." Not true. Some recognized it at least 15 years ago, but it is not close to being accepted in the US, so far as I can tell. It has long been know, however, that ERbeta is

Surgical Castration. Why is it uncommon?
I received the following circuitously from Richard Wassersug. -Patrick "What is known about the psychological distress of surgical castration versus long term androgen suppression with LHRH agonists or antagonists drugs? I share with Patrick O'Shea an interest in what is in the medical literature

When to start Estrogen after Bueserilin?
I have been taking Bueserilin since CD21 and just got my period today. If the progynova/estrogen is to thicken the lining, when do you start it? I would think there would need to be a good bleed before starting the estrogen and yet my clinic says to start today, (CD1)? My lining was 11 last transfer

Testosterone recovery (after 6 months of ADT).
New study from Japan, below [1]. "... 125 patients with prostate cancer received 6 months of neoadjuvant ADT (nADT) followed by low-dose rate (LDR) brachytherapy." The findings that the death rate for men is higher than that for women is not surprising: "Officials recorded a 2.8% fatality rate for male patients versus 1.7% for women." Women tend to launch a vigorous assault on viral insults, whereas men with normal-high testosterone [T] have a more muted response

A little vent - first frozen cycle
Hello lovelies.. I thought I’d write a post as I’m feeling a bit lonely with this whole IVF process and it’s so nice to speak to people who are going through a similar situation. A bit of background: We started our first fresh cycle in July last year but we ended up with a ‘freeze all’ situation

HRT -ANY EXPERIENCES TO SHARE PLEASE?
Hi I’ve just been prescribed HRT - Estradiol patch’s and Utrogestan. I am 64 and have osteoporosis-3.8 in spine. Because I have been refusing the usual meds my GP said I need to take something so prescribed the above. Again I’m worried about side effects but rightly or wrongly am happier to take hormones
