He’s home! Hurrah!
After 7 weeks in hospital my husband is home. Initially they were treating him for an infection and no antibiotics were touching it. It was only when they got the bone marrow culture showing Hodgkins transformation that he turned a corner. The ABVD chemo was a game changer. He had two chemos in hospital

Me again. Spoke to doc. Here's the plan if you're interested
SO... here's the plan. He feels that it is not urgent to change medication, Instead I am to up the Xeoloda dose for the next 6 weeks while I am traveling, then we watch markers and possibly scan in 3 months. My markers tend to correlate to my situation. He doesn't think I will be on Xeloda for

Anxious about radiotherapy
Hello everyone. I’ve just come back from seeing my oncologist and am feeling flat and anxious. I was thinking that I might need a couple of sessions of radiotherapy after finishing my chemo but have just been told that I’ll have 25 sessions over 5 weeks with 2 further chemo (cisplatin) in weeks 1 and

Fourth line chemo
Just wondering if anyone has had success with carboplatin fourth time around? It has worked well for me for three lines now, over six years, in various combinations, but I'm losing my nerve a little that carbo and I can do this again. First round tomorrow, carboplatin as single agent initially - possibly

Letrozole and low neutrophils
Yes, I agree with the previous posts that the low neutrophil count is due to the Ibrance, not the Letrozole. And that study about taking Ibrance days 5 on 2 off works well. The Ibrance is a targeted chemo. Whereas the Letrozole is an aromatase inhibitor. When I was taking only Letrozole, there were

Thanks and goodbye
My darling husband died last month at the age of 87, eleven years after his diagnosis. of oesophageal cancer. His chemo worked so well and he made a stunning recovery from the keyhole operation. So we had ten more years of love and fun before another cancer got him. This site was a great help to me then

Need advice before Monday doc appt!
Quick summary - my asymptomatic husband was diagnosed in June with metastatic prostate cancer from his pelvis to his lungs to the soft tissue in his brain. PSA 9 at the time. Lung biopsy and gene tests confirmed ordinary adenocarcinoma. He was immediately given Firmagon (which then moved to Lupron)

Update to Pluvicto Consult, and Question
My dad's PSMA scan lit up like a Christmas tree! 😂 excuse my dark humor to get through this... Anyway, he is a great candidate for Pluvicto! He meets with Radiation Oncologist on the 29th. The one downside is they have a supply shortage and he may not be able to start until end December-end Jan.

WBC down to 1.15, after 1st chemo
I had my first of six chemo treatments (Docetaxel + Carboplatin) on 11/10. Took my blood test yesterday. My White Blood Cell (WBC) count dropped to 1.15. My doctor’s office called and put me on Levofloxasin (500 mg/day for seven days). Is this normal, or alarming? What does it indicate is happening inside

ALKALINE PHOSPHATASE NUMBER HIGHER
Can Docetaxel chemo treatments cause the alkaline phosphatase number to rise? One month my husbands PSA rose and they said it was the cancer cells dying off.... and it went back down to 3.03. But this is the first time his Alkaline Phosphatase number has risen. Alkaline Phosphatase rose 80 points

White count lower 3 1/2 weeks after final chemo than 1 week after - WTF?
Had my 6th & final chemo (docetaxel) on Oct 24; one week later my WBC was 3.1. Previous 1 week post chemo white counts were in the 5 - 6 range. Been self injecting with Ziextenzo (bioequivalant to Neulasta) a day after each round. Not sure why didn't come back up at one week like previous rounds. What

Has anyone had all 6 cycles of Taxol/carboplatin before surgery?
My mom's care team is playing with the idea of doing all 6 chemo cycles before debulking surgery. She's finishing her 4th cycle tomorrow. Has anyone else had all 6 up front? Her growth has significantly shrunk and would be operable, according to them. So wondering why this is the care teams's new approach
