Epilim Tab 100mg (sodium valproate) Control of seizures and fits.
This was the first time My Specialist put me on
Epilim
and finally control of My seizures. With so many other health problems at least this one was settled.

Tired effects of Epilim ?
I have been taking various medications for epilepsy for over 40 years, trying most alternatives in the same field,
Epilim
medication is effective in the lessening in my number of seizures. But I find
Epilim
especially bad for sleep patterns.

New to epilepsy/seizures.
I've now had to stop driving and begun
Epilim
for about 7 days 200mg bd. I have had a noticeable side effect of being unable to sleep which has caused me to take time off work. I took me a few weeks to get my head round this life changing information.

Please help! Epilepsy and anxiety plus everything else!
So after learning
epilim
is not a good choice to be on for women, I asked my doctor to switch and I got put onto Keppra, 250mg twice a day. I'd been doing great.

Botox.
I had also been trying
Epilim
Chrono (sodium valproate) which are used by epileptics. I also take amytriptlyn. The
Epilim
made no real difference and only added to my tiredness and groggy state in the mornings. Well back to my Botox.

Concerned about switching to Keppra
After seeing my neurologist he has suggested changing from
Epilim
chrono to Keppra. However he did mention the potential side effect of Keppra rage and general mood changes. Has anyone seen this happen? I do take a number of other medications so switching was advised to avoid interactions.

Where can I get help?
The doctor took him off the Phenobarbitone and prescribed
Epilim
. He kept having seizures once a month and the doctor eventually increased the dose to 2g daily. He also had seizures every time he had a cold.

Migraine: The Truth?
It can be wonderful feeling no pain at all for the first time in one's life but the cost is very high if it means giving up work and ceasing to function as the person you were before you took
Epilim
or Topirimate (which also causes kidney stones) or any of the many other calcium channel blocking drugs

Clobazam as an add-on medication
Hi, I have just been prescribed clobazam as an add-on drug, to take whenever I feel I am at high risk of having a seizure eg. not had much sleep (my main trigger), or if I have sickness or diarrhea that may have caused my normal medication (
epilim
chrono) to pass out of my system without being absorbed

Eplim (sodium valporate) side effects?
It didn't occur to me until I left the optometrist that the blurred vision started about the time I took the
epilim
. Has anyone else experienced vision deterioration with sodium valporate?

Does anybody know about interaction between levothyroxine & epilepsy medication?
I had previously tried
Epilim
but had to change these too I am due to see the Dr & will explain this - but do you know what change I would have to make re: doses of medication (either levo up/down or carbamazepine ?) or can you suggest a web page I can go to.

A bad week
I only had one more seizure soon after starting taking
Epilim
. That was until this week. I'd been seizure free for about 7 years. In that time, I've passed 3 degrees, including a PhD, got married, started a great career and my husband and I were just starting to talk about having a family.

My story!
I was anxious to regain my mobility, and had already set myself a challenge while in hospital, more of which later. 6:-During my time in hospital I had been on a variety of medication, including anti-depressants and
Epilim
(Anti-epilepsy); I fortunately never had a seizure.

New Drug side effects
I have taken Phenytion for many years and my Neurologist suggested Additional
Epilim
last year. I now find it much more difficult to stay awake and have just seen an entry on Google stating the two medicins should NOT be mixed together.

Does anybody suffer with throbbing in arms/legs/feet & really achy muscles all over ?
In the last 9 months I've also had 4 nocturnal seizures so also take
Epilim
300mg daily since Nov - so I'm not sure if this is a thyroid or seizure medication problem.
