Palpations after Cardiac ablation!

I had a Cardiac ablation in Jan 18

Pre procedure I had 50 Ectopic heartbeats a day, now I have between 3-4000 and rising, can the Ablation be the cause and what's the treatment for it, I also get very short of breath?

I have around 1800 palpatations daily which "they" class as normal. I was advised an ablation wouldn't work for me as if they zapped my dodgy electrical pathways they could potentially come back.

You do get short of breath, because your heart isn't working 100% .

I would go back to your GP

Yes, I get very short of breath, at anytime and without reason!

I'm back at the Cardiac clinic next month for more tests, so fingers crossed!

I just wondered if anyone had had a Cardiac ablation, which dramatically increased the Ectopic heartbeats, whilst stopping the AF?

PS

I was told 3-4000 was normal as well, but it doesn't feel "Normal" to me!

I don't feel it's normal either. I currently am struggling to walk or stand more than 20 or30 minutes before I have to sit down or collapse. Feel really fed up with lack of progress in diagnosis.

I know just how you feel!

I can't say that I have the number of ectopics you have, but I do experience multiple ectopics in runs (every 3rd or 4th beat) for short periods of time from a couple of minutes to an hour or so on and off. Its exhausting and worrying. I also get raised resting heart beats 90 - 110 for short runs or up to several hours with and without exercise and experience very loud heart beats at time (don't know what they are about as rhythm appear fairly stable according to my Kardia ECG). All of this is new since my second - so far successful ablation for PAF. I get other heart oddities at times but had them previous to the ablation. Dr's don't seem concerned but its really causing problems with sleep and quality of life. I cant find a trigger for most of it other than if I'm stressed, ill or physically exhausted (happens a lot these days) they seem to be more prevalent. Some days I'm fine.

I also get breathless/dizzy and have heart discomfort on exercising which I had previously (not obstructive angina) this previously had appeared linked to bisoprolol - lessened with drop in dosage - but is obviously still there since I have come off the drug.

I've lost my job due to ill health now and am trying to get over the stress of this and find ways of exercising that don't make things worse or totally exhaust me - hoping that things will improve over time. I'm finding taking magnesium taurate every day does appear to help 'quieten' my heart down to some degree

Medical team does not appear to think its ablation related I can't see how it isn't. However, I'm so glad that the violent PAF attacks haven't happened since the ablation (Nov 2018) obviously worried that the strange heart arrhythmias I'm getting now are my heart trying to go back into PAF. I would be wary of having another ablation now - not totally discounting it though.

Not what you're looking for?
