Soon to receive a pacemaker and AV node ablation
Hi. I'm just wondering if anybody on here has had the same procedure. I don't quite understand why some people just get the pacemaker and others need the ablation too? Also, approx how long between the two procedures and why the wait? Thanks in advance đź‘Ť

Elevated resting HR post cardiac ablation procedure
Hi all. I love the comments and similar stories from folks like me who just want a little comfort but also realistic expectations! I’m 2 weeks to the day out of cardiac ablation procedure for lone AF. For the first 8 days it was absolutely perfect. Since then I have developed a high resting HR. Anywhere

Wait time to see cardiologist
Hello everyone. My PAF has become worse over last 6 months particularly when I'm walking dog. (End up with a afib every time). Doc spoke to my cardiologist who suggested catheter ablation but need to see me with ecgs. So doc referred me but a 46 week wait for appt. Doc has now expedited me but still

Dapagliflozin
Hi, All. Been pre pandemic since I've been here! Just before that started, I had an av node ablation done in early January 2020. I've felt great ever since. Highly recommended, no pain or discomfort during the procedure and it only took 45 minutes. My latest news is that I've been put on Dapagliflozin

Post ablation
I had a cardiac ablation 2 days for PAfib . I’m feeling well and was told the procedure went smoothly. I had thought that after the procedure I would gradually reduce the medication over a period of perhaps 3 months or so. Instead I’ve been told to take the same dosage as before for 3 months and then

Dr Wolf and the Maze procedure
Following yesterday's interesting posts about the Wolf maze I decided to find out more about this procedure and so I emailed Dr Wolf and asked him to point me in the direction of any clinical studies on the efficacy of his procedure. He didn't send me that but he did send me a photo of a report which

Exercise after an AV Node Avlation
Just a quick follow on from my last post. Has anybody out there had an AV Node ablation and been able to get back to full on exercise if they were very active before? Whether that's the gym to do strenuous workouts and weight lifting, lots of long distance walking, steep hill walking etc or long distance

25+ years with persistant AF, now possible AV Node Ablation
I am 52 live in the UK and have had permanent/persistant AF for I don't know how long as I only found out about it 25+ years ago by accident in the gym. I think they call it Lone AFib as historically I have rarely had any troublesome symptoms apart from more recently starting to get a lot more fatigued

AV Node Ablation update
It has now been just over a week since I had my AV Node Ablation. I had been extremely nervous beforehand especially knowing that I would be reliant on my pacemaker. The pace and ablate procedure doesn't 'cure' AF but it does control it and I can testify that is absolutely the case. My heart has tried

Feeling worse on Entresto.
Hi All. Be grateful for any advice. I am an almost 74 year old Male. My diagnosis is Permanent AF with both Tachycardia & Bradycardia. Developed HF over the past 18 months. Ejection Fraction recently dropped from 45% to 35% Waiting for AV node ablation. I saw my HF cardiologist recently and he swapped

Post Catheter Ablation
I'm 72, fit, considered generally healthy, although I had an ablation 7 days ago. It went 'smoothly' according to the electrophysiologist. This treatment came as a choice after 2 years of Paroxysmal AF episodes. My symptoms were very pronounced. The 'pill in the pocket' didn't really help me. However

The Ablate part of the Pace and ablate procedure
In the AF Association leaflet it says the following: "The procedure does not restore the normal heart sinus rhythm and so the heart will not work as well as it would in the normal rhythm. Therefore symptom relief may not be as good as might be expected with restoration of the normal heart rhythm. " I've

Av. Node. Ablation.
Had av node.ablation one week ago still feel heart beating and rate in the 80's. Is this normal. Also my pacemaker appears to have moved and I can feel it. Does this happen.

Seeking pearls of wisdom.
Greeting everyone. FYI, I'm a rooky to this site. I have had permanent AF for years now and am living with it. All the medications have been tried and haven't resolve my discomfort. I also have Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy which complicates issues. I was fitted with a CRT-D pacemaker last fall

Should I have second cardiac ablation?
I am currently scheduled to have my second ablation in a few weeks. I’m currently having second thoughts on going through with it. I’m a 32 year old male, who’s relatively healthy. In the past 3 years I’ve had multiple instances of AF, have had 3 cardioversions, and one cryo ablation. Out of the 5-6

Taking Bisoprolol in between pacemaker and AV node ablation
I had my pacemaker fitted on the 10th March and am still having episodes of AF and also more frequent episodes of tachycardia which I didn't have before. I have just spoken with my consultant who said it will be another one or two months before I have the AV node ablation. In the meantime he is prescribing
