Reason for the change to Eligard
I recently was told the reason my medication was changed from Lupron to
Eligard
was because the hospital has a different vendor. I'm looking forward to getting my shot on the 19th of August. My nurse is so kind caring knowledgeable! And after I get my shot I give her a great big hug.

Lupron/Eligard and Atrial Fibrillation Meds
My urologist is suggesting an
eligard
shot before I start radiation treatment. I've seen warnings about interactions with heart arythmia medications, in my case propafenone. Has anyone experienced serious interactions between
eligard
/lupron and these heart meds? My cancer isn't advanced.

Senses are better while on Lupron
I have been on Lupron for 3 years but I am being taken off it to go on
Eligard
next month. One other thing that is being noticed that woman are responding to me much better when I talk to them.

A Mixed Result
Current therapy:
eligard
, zytiga & prednisone. That's since finishing provenge. New bone scan in six months unless pain increases (currently noticeable but not medicated most days) before then or my PSA spikes at the September test.

My path to Precision Medicine
I got tired of standard of care (diagnosed 3/14, surgery 4/14 (gleason 9, 85% of prostate with tumor, seminal vesicle invasion - just a mess), pelvic bone mets found 6/14 (6 week post-op PSA of 3.76...crazy), started
eligard
and 6 rounds of docetaxel 7/14 thinking I was still hormone sensitive, bone

New developments, Xofigo, Xgeva
Currently still on
Eligard
injections every 6 months. Thinking I will start Xgeva again in view of first evidence of vertebral compression, despite all past bone density studies being normal and additional risks and side effects of Xgeva. Probably while doing Xofigo. Thoughts?

Lupron vs Eligard
I see that Lupron and
Eligard
both contain the same active ingredient. Has anyone experienced different side effects using both at one time or the other? I started out using Lupron and have been switched to
Eligard
(3 month injection).

Anyone been on Taxotere longer than 10 months?
He is also taking
Eligard
and Zometa and prednisone. After stretching out his chemo appointments last month to 5 weeks instead of 3 (due to vacation plans), he saw a sharp increase in PSA of 20 pts. Has another appt. next week to check on the PSA again.

A Personal Introduction
I underwent a TURP to ease my symptoms and began 4 monthly
Eligard
injections, I then completed external beam radiation in December 2012 and my PSA dropped to 0.008 in 2013.

Living with it!
Did the Provenge treatment, added
Eligard
, Xtandi and Celibrex in 2014. At this point (March 2016) the numbers are going in the right direction with each PSA test. Before Provenge my PSA had climbed to 3.4. That was in Nov. 2013. In May 2014 - 1.57. Nov. 2014 - 1.29.
