Is kidney function related to my prostate meds?
I was started on Firmagon, then switched to
Eligard
. Both were very effective in reducing a PSA of 156 to 12. This spring, I received Provenge then was put on Zytiga along with steroids. My most recent PSA was around 5. Testosterone was 4.

My PSA stayed at 20 for months after starting
Eligard
and radiation. It finally dropped to .1 in October of 16. Since then I have been on
Eligard
except a few short holidays. Currently on a holiday, but my last PSA test a few weeks ago was up again, .58.

A history of PSA readings, how accurate are they?
Onwards to 2010 PSA started to climb 5 and started
Eligard
(testosterone suppressant) . Then in 2011 started new drug trial Oterenol or TAK 700 then changed to Lucrin with PSA hovering around 12.

Has Docetaxel not worked for any of you?
Still on
Eligard
. Just praying we see some slowing in disease progression. It is a beast! When cabazitaxel stops working we’ll be on to LU-177 or possibly other drug trials available in Canada. I’m just wondering if this is common for some when given docetaxel?

Xgeva for bone metastisis
I have been on
Eligard
and Zytiga/Prednisone for less than a month. I have a few lesions in the pelvic bone, which I understand should benefit from this hormone treatment. My MO will also be starting me in a few weeks on Xgeva.

Firmagon
Uro wants to switch to Lupron/
Eligard
at 30 days. Lupron lasts 6 mos. I'm sure that there will be constant monitoring - bone density, cholesterol levels, CT scans. Next step is "fiducial" markers - gold seeds inserted into my prostate (will there be anything left of the poor little thing?)

Supplements/Nutrition for advanced prostate cancer
Then in July he started on Casodex (2wks), then
Eligard
(every 3months), Zytiga and Xgeva (both monthly). His initial PSA in June/July was 33 and after only a month of treatment it went down to 3 and hopefully it continously goes down to a very low undetectable level.

HOT FLASHES – Why? What to do?
Studies have shown that the majority of the hot flashes that men experience as a side effect of
ELIGARD
therapy are typically mild. Researchers analyzed patient characteristics and their DNA to determine which factors were associated with an increase in hot flashes.

Have had once a month infusions of Zometa along with Decadron IV and also a shot of
Eligard
for past 6 months. PSA now at <0.06. Have had Lupron shot. Now having pain in shoulder blade and lower back. See MO later this month. Biggest problem is what to eat. Bad cook and even fussier eater.
