Heart rate in afib and when to go to ER or A&E
Sitting down watching tv and I felt in my chest I was trying to go into afib, so I grabbed my trusty oximeter and put it on and watched HR go down from 80s to 70s to 60s to 50s to 40s to a reading of 37 HR. Freaked me out so I got another oximeter different manufacturer and put it on and it read 37.

Ectopic Beats
I have had ectopic beats for some years but it was always infrequently. I recently started getting them more often and had a 24 hour holter monitor. I was told there were isolated PAC and PVCs totalling 50 in 24 hour period. They are now happening much more frequently I would say every 2/3 minutes

Idiopathic Hypersomnia
I have recently received a diagnosis of Idiopathic Hypersomnia. I was a bit shocked as my consultant had previously told me I had an Atypical sleep disorder. I started taking Modafinil 6 months ago and it actually works. I feel that those 2 words are about to potentially turn my life around in some

Post Ablation Diagnosis
I have been very fortunate and had my Afib ablation in Leicester in May. I had excellent treatment with very minimal side effects from the procedure and am back doing exercise and best of all, no episodes of Afib - so all very positive even though it is very early days. My follow up appointment is in

Hydration.
You all know how I bang on about good hydration. Well some may have spotted a reply I gave to another OP about low blood pressure. On Saturday morning whilst drinking my second cup of de caf tea about 10 30 I started to feel a little odd so checked my BP which had sunk to 88/55 and HR dropped to 60

So had some waiting fun in AnE yesterday after my heart decided to do the long jump, the shot put and the 800m sprint all in one go.Been getting back from a usual walk, my heart just all of a sudden started racing to 100-110bpm (usually sits at around 65-75) and BP was 140/90 (usually 100/70). Hospital update and thanks.
Thank you everyone for all the messages. I was so exhausted last night when i Got home I just crashed. I don't know if it was reaction to the weekend or the new tablets. First my dog was fine. She'd only just had surgery with lost of instructions on painkillers, feeding and exercise so I was worried

Troponin levels?
Just some information I found regarding troponin levels. I have to admit I have found it very confusing. But this information from Wolverhampton did help to reduce my concerns. I basically went to my hospital in March with chest pains but I basically walked into A and E. They done an ecg which fortunately

Blood pressure warning
More fun and frolics. Before I went to pamper myself in Montenegro (swimming in the sea, lounging on the Cabana) I checked my blood pressure which I do regularly and noticed a little warning sign like a heart next to my diastolic. The literature said to seek advice so I asked him in doors and he casually

Smart watch blood pressure function
I love the ECG function on my Galaxy watch and the blood pressure until I noticed the instruction not to use if on meds etc. I don't understand why it's safe for Afib but not for BP. Can anyone explain please?

Low voltage heart problems
I had to go to A&E on Wednesday due to what felt like a racing heart during the night, and shortness of breath with chest pain the previous evening. It improved after I got up. Most of the tests they ran came back normal, but the ecg showed signs of low voltage. The doctor told me to arrange for a 24
