Echo results - Translation
Hey guys, I recently received my follow up letter from my Echo/Cardiologist and wondered if someone might be able to help translate it a little as I'm quite anxious. The notes are below:- "The study found normal bi-ventricular size and systolic function (EF=66% by 3DE, GLS= - 18.7% by 2D-STE)

Hello again, very long time, no see. I will freely admit that a huge part of my absence has been pure denial. As 2024 begins, I realise I have been a prisoner of my health problems since late 2020, when it all really kicked off probably due in no small way to our good friend Covid, both mentally and

An enquiry about the evidence base regarding anticoagulants - my reply to a post that just went missing…..
Revised and edited post. My apologies if this post caused any confusion or led down the wrong track. Top Biscuit has been in touch with me and wishes to make the following very clear: Her post wasn't about anticoagulation at all, although she understands how it could lead the mind to the question of

Mini update regarding Kardia
So I went for it and got the 6 lead Kardia since most people thought it would be worth while. Got it today and on my second ECG, it came up an inconclusive so I done another after which came back as possible A fib. Returned to normal after. I shall keep going with it for a while and see how often this

A Useful Review of the Excellent Wellue AI ECG Device
I bought one of the Wellue 24-hour AI ECG monitors a while back after warm recommendations on this forum. I noticed today a full review of it from the highly respected American cardiologist, "The Skeptical Cardiologist", had been published. Some of you might find it interesting to read. The Wellue device

Is evidence of AFib on ECG. The same as confirmed Afib
I was just wondering, if heart palpitations and evidence of AFib on the ecg. Is the same as confirmed AFib. I have had 3 episodes of heart palpitations, but still fighting infection from Ecoli and acute necrotising pancreatitis. Infection markers were well over 400 and now down to around 40 from last

New Year update
Firstly Happy New Year to everyone. Had a phone call last Thursday from my surgery to book an appointment for a blood pressure review. Had the appointment this morning what an utter waste of my time and the GPs time they wanted to see me as my BP is still stubbornly very low and I'm still getting lightheaded

Low blood pressure and palpitations. Thyroid, low ferritin, something else?
My ongoing investigations into possible thyroid problems continue and thanks to you lovely lot I have a direction to follow with more testing over a period of time to look for patterns. So far normalish TSH with low normal FT4 and FT3 - results below. I’m not diagnosed and don’t take thyroid meds. Feel

Acute pericarditis following 1 high steroid dose.
hello I experienced pericarditis about 17 years ago following a cold. I had one mild relapse about 6 months later which is when I was diagnosed with pericarditis by GP . Since then nothing until now. 2 days ago I was prescribed a high dose of prednisone steroids (60mg per day) for an unrelated ear

Looking to understand symptoms which seem heart related to me
First off, I know any responses on here are no substitute for professional medical help, but my experience lately with various GPs leaves something to be desired and I need to compare notes with others to try and understand exactly what is - or may - be ailing me. 20th October I started to feel unwell after a week of stresses. Then the day after thought I had a bit of a bug from my granddaughter. By the next day I felt I had indigestion that seemed to come on as soon as I began to eat? Monday to wednesday bouts of pain in chest through to the back, neck, jaw

newly diagnosed with AF and been super anxious ever since
Hello all. Happy new year. 40 year old male from Canada recently diagnosed with Afib on November 22 2023. I was a heavy caffeine drinker, roughly 3 large coffees a day and an energy drink before exercise. Bad sleeper averaging 5-6 hours a night. Went to bed the November night and as I was dozing off

Ectopics scaring me, lasting longer than usual.
This past week, for 3 days, I had almost continuous ectopics and for the first time, they even lasted all night which really scared me. I went to the A&E, the ECG was "normal" but during the 4 hours I was there, the telemetry did pick up ectopics. The doctor said there was nothing to raise a red flag
