Concerned.
Good morning. I'm a 39 year lady and have been having heart palpitations regularly. I've recently done a 24 hour ecg and this is what has been said. Just looking to see if I should be concerned? My grandmother (fathers side) has heart disease, it also looks like my mother has also now. My nephew passed

Eventful Weekend
Afternoon AF Warriors. Thought I would update you with my introduction to Dabigatron and Bisoprolol. Commenced DG on Wednesday, so far so good. Friday afternoon experienced facial flush and generally felt peculiar. Checked my BP it was high 187/110 HR 69. Wondering if this was a side effect of

Flecainide sticking in esophagus
I’ve been on regular flecainide and bisoprolol for around three years and until today never really had any issues swallowing my 50mg tablets. However, this morning it seemed to stick in my esophagus at just above the chest area. It was a bit uncomfortable and may have caused fairly significant pain across

48 hour ECG monitor.
Hi Guys hope you all had a great day. Was a super early start for me woke up at 6 to get to the hospital for 10.30 but I actually ended up getting there an hour before and was seen too straight away. I asked if I can send the monitor back and I'm able too which I'm thrilled about. I got another travel

Weird optical lights/constant bad headache
Hi everyone ❤️ OK for a while now I've been having bad headaches just thought it was apart of everything I've been going through... Struggling with thyroid medication, and being diagnosed with primary hyperparathyroidism. About 3 weeks ago I started seeing weird optical lights and strange light disturbances

Arrhythmia after open heart surgery - any others with similiar experiences?
Hi there, I'm new to this forum and looking forward to learning from you all. 8 weeks ago I had open heart surgey to correct a large atrial septal defect (hole in the heart). It was diagnosed at Christmas. Prior to this I had no cardiac symptoms at all - I was power lifting in the gym, cycling a 20km

Ecg ‘bumps’
Morning, I used my Kardia yesterday, because I feel weird, it’s almost like am going to go into af but don’t and I have been like it a few days. The ecg shows a couple of funny lumpy bits, which I haven’t seen before. Any ideas what they are? I am just curious.

Has anyone tried Berberine (supplement) for Afib?
In researching what supplements will help my 93 yr old mom's heart (afib has returned after two ablations that kept her afib-free for 14 months), I found a study on Berberine. She's currently on Tykosin and would stay on Tykosin, but that eventually becomes ineffective (sometimes as soon as 6 to 12

ECG after Holter monitor
I had a 24hr holter monitor 6-8 weeks ago. Got a phone call today with an appointment in cardiology for an ECG, told the appointment is about 30 mins. Just confused because I thought the Holter monitor was essentially a 24hr ECG? I don't understand why I would have one after that. Anyone had similar

ECG from watch since stopping Flecainide
Following up from this thread (https://healthunlocked.com/afassociation/posts/149814878/a-cautionary-flecainide-tale) , I'm taking occasional ECGs to check out that things look ok. This is from my Apple Watch, I see a higher T wave than I did when on Flecainide, question is whether this is normal/expected

My PMR Three Year Update
Hi all I’m a month behind with this but thought I would post my yearly update on my “joys and delights” of suffering from PMR. I finished year three at the end of June and I have to be honest and say that from the PMR point of view it has all gone in a fairly straight forward fashion. I have had no

Bad test news - questions to ask doctor
I knew my husband had AF following an EKG prior to surgery in 2012. He was a college athlete and only health issues have been hip and knee replacements. They tried to shock him out of AF but it was unsuccessful. He was put on Xarelto 20 mg. He has always been asymptomatic and I was naive since he

A cautionary Flecainide tale
Brief history, I had two ablations in 2019, the second one being in Sept. I'm currently 56 and like exercise. Since 2019 I stopped competing and training for triathlon and knocked everything back loads. Around Oct 21 I noticed arrhythmias, looking back on my notes it mostly seemed to start with atrial

Mitral valve replacement - waiting for operation, the wait time and the do's and dont's advice please
Hi all, I had an ECG on 17th July which showed severe leaking of my Mitral valve. I had an angiogram on the 28th July which showed no blockages in my arteries. I have a meeting with my cardiologist on 15th August. To date my GP or the cardio team have not given me any advice on what I should be doing

Intrigued by the access correspondents have to doctors.
I have read the NICE outlines for RA. They are indeed nice. However they have no statutory meaning. I am surviving reasonably well on medication but have little meaningful understanding about how I shall decline. My access to medical professionals seems as slender as for everyone else. An appointment

Slow and irregular heart rate with T3
I have taken NHS prescribed T3 only since 2012, three doses: 20 mcg 7am 10 mcg 3pm , 20 mcg 10 pm. 65 bpm is my normal resting rate. In the past I have had an occasional fall in bpm to mid 50's but found upping T3 dose for few days and changing to new packet (not short date) and my heart rate returned

Update
I had to call 111 at 12:30 this morning, I've got a stabbing pain from my left hand side jaw all the way to my shoulder. It was so painful I was in tears I couldn't sleep. 111 said they'll get someone to call me back, well around 6:30 (about 10 minutes after I'd finally fallen asleep) they called as
