Cardiologist appointment - what to ask?
At that time my EF was 30 to 35, measured by
echocardiogram
. Since then I eventually got an MRI, after making my way to the top of an 11 month waiting list, and had a stress test a couple of weeks ago. My nurse has told me that the MRI measured my EF at 53.

I'm new: how long til I get seen by Cardiologist??
Dear all, another load of questions....so I was diagnosed Sunday (in A&E). Referral for echo cardio gram and cardiologist. My questions are: 1) how long does it typically take to get those 2 appointments? 2) And I assume echo cardiogram has o be before cardiologist so they know what they are looking

I'm new: Emergency visit to A & E and new diagnosis?
Hi - I'm new. I've just been to A&E and got told I have Atrial fibrillation. Was given anti-coagulant and some beta blockers, but really scared what this means. Will see a cardiologist and apparently have an echo cardiogram. Mainly I am in shock! I have diabetes which is a risk factor, but exercised

Recent diagnosis of Atrial Flutter
I am waiting to have a 24 hour heart monitor fitted & an
echocardiogram
. There seems to be lots of information about Atrial Fibrillation but not Atrial Flutter. My main concern is what my lifestyle should be now. Should I be living normally or taking care in what I do. I am 69 years old.

They can't find anything, but it's getting worse.
On the other hand the doctors can't find any evidence in: Coronary angiogram(never had high blood pressure or cholesterol) Electrocardiogram
Echocardiogram
(only small mitral valve prolapse) 24H Electrocardiogram(a couple of extrasystoles) According to the doctors i should be in perfect condition.

I used to have a strong healthy heart
He did the cardioversion,
echocardiogram
and angiogram. The cardioversion got my heart back to normal for a brief time only. The
echocardiogram
showed enlarged left atrium, and the angiogram showed absolutely no obstructions in my blood vessels.

5 Days Till RALRP
Had to have a last minute transesophageal
echocardiogram
so my cardiologist could provide input to the anesthesiologist about my mitral valve prolapse (exhibiting no symptoms for that). Also a last minute CT scan of chest. All the pre-op blood work checked out OK.

Strange things happen! Calling on those with knowledge of heart issues.
Had another
Echocardiogram
today, probably to check it out prior to first cardio consultant appointment in February. So guy doing echo asks what happened.

Newbie Help Please - 4 month delay - GP referral not sent!!!
Secretary phoned back and said the referral had been received but it wasn’t possible to do an Electocardiogram (On reflection she could have meant/said
Echocardiogram
) if my heart rate was over 100.

Todays question from me is ...
This morning I got a letter, who I am seeing this coming week , informing me that the result of my
echocardiogram
shows that I have a Left Ventricular Systolic Dysfunction but with no regional wall motion abnormality.

Leaky heart valve 'diagnosis!?'
I was quite taken back by this as I was expecting another normal
echocardiogram
. The GP says I need a 24 hour ECG in a few weeks and another
echocardiogram
in a few years. I have been awfully lightheaded lately to the point I am stumbling over.

Update on AF diagnosis
I had my appointment with the cardiologist following the
Echocardiogram
. This was a private appointment as the waiting list was 14 months! By way of background I had a 24 hour holter which showed "sinus rhythm with frequent ectopics/episodes of atrial fibrillation.

Diagnosis AF: Waiting list to see cardiologist 12 months; 14 months for Echo... suggests not serious?!
I telephoned the hospital this morning to find out how long I would wait to see a cardiologist and for the
echocardiogram
. I was informed it would be 12 months to see a cardiologist and 14 months for the
echocardiogram
as it was a 'routine' referral.
