Why do you need all of these? Neupro, amantadine & sinamet
Confused as I have been reading where people are on all of these Neupro, amantadine & sinamet at the same time. Is there a reason? Thanks

A call to upgrade our profiles to help understand each other better
Minor or non existing symptoms: Only slight occasional tremor and no
dyskinesia
, but I shake strongly only when I stretch my arms and legs out or yawn. If I do get too cold, I shiver easily. In fact, my tremor has that same vibration generally.

Anyone else not helped by dopamine agonists?
While I understand the reason for this (danger of
dyskinesia
etc) he will not accept that I don't seem to be helped by the agonists. Ropinirole and Rotigotine both made my Parkinsons symptoms worse. I can better tolerate Pramipexole but there's no sign that it actually helps me.

Prolonged exposure to dopamine replacement drugs can lead to

Professional nutritional support for PWP in the UK
I am looking for a knowledgeable nutritionist, ideally in London, able to provide individualized advice on good nutrition e.g. for slowing progression, correcting weight loss, supporting intense exercise and solving interaction problems with Parkinsons's meds. Any recommendations? New'ish on this site

Issues getting Zentiva made Hydroxychloroquine and alternative manufacturers
Hi all, this is a repeat of a reply I put to a recent post on availability of Zentiva locally to me in Sussex to see if its everywhere or just my local supply chain. All I want to do is just be given the medication that makes me able to function sort of normally... and not have to see if I can get on

Underwhelmed by Madopar
Hi gang. Is this drug meant to work instantly with ones symptoms or do you need few weeks and aggregate an amount in your system? I’m very surprised at how little difference it makes to my symptoms considering it’s the gold standard etc. I certainly had my honeymoon period with both Azilect and Requip

Here is a recent study that suggests low dose MP may be as good or better than prescription levadopa/benserazide which is typically prescribed for people with PD, but MP does not have the
dyskinesia
side effects that prescription levadopa/benserazide can have in some patients.

Orthostatic Hypotension or Not?
PWP does suffer with OH but normally once he falls the blood comes back to the head and he is fine, now nearly every morning he has what I think is
dyskinesia
then becomes unresposive, hands become spastic, can last from a couple of minutes to 20mins. Do any of you experts recognise this happening?

This what my neuro dr. told me today
C/L long use is causing
dyskinesia
- nonsense;
dyskinesia
is caused by the advanced PD - not enough cells to store/produce dopamine left; he urged me to start C/L asap. 2. Proteins slow down the C/L absorption - nonsense; actually is the alcohol which does it. 3.

Levodopa Medications and Vitamin B6
Introduction
Vitamin B6 is a cofactor in over 100 enzymatic reactions. In the process it is converted from the active form, principally P5P (pyridoxal-5-phosphate), to the inactive form, pyridoxine. An excess of pyridoxine is toxic because it occupies sites that require the active form. For this

24 hour sinemet. Why not?
Why can't they make a sinemet formulation that slowly breaks down over a 24 hour period so we can have constant benefit even at night? They already have sinement CR which works over a 4 hour period. It should be easy to make. Just have a pill for example that releases 100 mg of levodopa and 50 mg

Sinemet and PSP
The second neurologist feels he has PSP and said the shortness of breath could be either "wearing off" between doses or a respiratory
dyskinesia
resulting from the Sinemet. We opted to stop the Sinemet and the shortness of breath resolved, so my husband is reluctant to restart it.
