Duac

I've stopped taking levothyroxine (against medical advice) and have been prescribed doxycycline and Duac topical gel. My skin is clearing up, but that's probably more to do with stopping levothyroxine than the antibiotics. Doc has also referred me to a dermatologist.

I should probably also mention that I suffer with hyperhidrosis in my hands, moderate facial acne (I have been on lymecycline and use duac cream), and postnasal drip (treated with Avamys nasal spray).

She prescribed Duac, which was quite effective at clearing spots, but other than that I haven't really tried changing diet or any other remedies. Any suggestions or advice would be welcome.

I have never had acne in my life and it's getting me down so much I've been given duac gel what I put on at night and a 6 month course of antibiotics it's getting worse !!!

My GP has given me a cream called DUAC which contains benzoyl peroxide that has been very effective at clearing the acne on my cheeks and i now only get one or two cysts that come up now and then.

Why have I not discovered this before?? I had previously had to manage topical treatment with Zineryt which worked at first but was messy and smelly. I started this gel on Monday and the results started overnight! Massive reduction in cystic acne severity. Redness reduced greatly- less angry looking.

My doctor has prescribed me Duac and after a fortnight my acne has almost completely gone! Highly recommended for anyone else suffering. My GP's really good and he doesn't trust the pills because it's trying to manipulate your hormones even more. Now if only I could get over my pains.
