The doctor has just put me on Rasagiline does anybody know anything about this drug what can I expect?
At the moment I am on mirtazipine 30 mg./day this is suppose to stop anxiety but it does help me sleep at night a bit better, but apart from that it does not seem to help. I have tried the dopamine drugs but they do not affect me. i have no tremor but freeze a lot when trying

Augmentation with Clonazepam
Does augmentation occur with Clonazepam in the same way as it does with the dopamine agonist drugs? I have been taking 2 x 0.5 mg each night but now find they are not effective

Does anyone have any reliable information about ZANDOPA?
I have been on Sinemet for six years - 800 mg currently - and now that the s/e are severely impacting on my life I am keen to find a way of reducing it. In particular, the dyskinesias are getting much worse. I can't be prescribed a dopamine agonist because of ICD previously. I have received a 200g

The Placebo Effect - how significant is it in Parkinsons.
The Placebo Effect refers to the beneficial effect in a patient following a particular treatment that arises from the patient's expectations concerning the treatment rather than from the treatment itself or put another way The placebo effect happens when you decide a therapy will make you better

Research is going on into getting rid of unwanted iron in dopamine producing cells. Has anyone considered reducing iron in their diet?

RLS has a secondary Symptom
Since my early teens ive always had what i described has fidgety feet and have never been able to sleep with my feet under the duvet...This was never a real issue, just something I lived with. In my late teens, early 20's this disease became a real nuisance and started to effect my hands. It was mentioned

I came across this article. What is the role of mitochondrial dysfunction in Parkinson’s disease?
Scientists have accrued a large body of evidence confirming that mitochondria play an important role in the development of Parkinson’s disease. The most prominent symptoms of Parkinson’s disease are muscle trembling and weakness, which then progress to muscle immobility. These symptoms are the result

Dopamine / Narcotic Use..also falling asleep too early
Some of you have told me that you take your dopamine drugs early in the evening so you can sit through a movie, a dinner, a car ride..but you get so drowsy so you sleep by 8pm and than wake back up at 11am with either RLS or Insomnia.. My question is What can be done to keep someone sleeping all night

A possible cure for Fibroymalgia, please read this.
I have heard a lot of different opinions on what Fibromyalgia is and on possible treatments for it. But I recently found a book that is incredibly useful. It's called " The Fibromyalgia cure" it's by DR David Dryland. It basically says that fibromyalgia is caused by your body being in a constant

IF PD dopamine LOW, excess transporter proteins get dumped at cell reducing SIGNALLING, UNTIL CELL STOPS WORKING not dead maybe??
lewy bodies develop eventually on cell wall like a battery plates phosphate up when not functioning , explains unreliability of cell grafts and transplants, which don't last because the inactive non functioning cells " must be removed, like a dudd battery left connected in your car would inhibit

Does anyone have experience/information/opinion on the use of pickle juice to treat symptoms of PD?
Some PWP who use it on minor symptoms extoll its virtues. Some Doctors oppose it, as follows: " Pickle Juice is laden with salt and may leach dopamine from the nerve cells, thus worsening the condition." Under the heading of, "what can we lose", I have tried it on restless leg and minor cramping

Hi, has anybody been offered mirapex, which is given to Parkinsons sufferers.?
I have been reading some articles suggesting FMS is predominantly a neurological condition involving a reduction in dopamine. Chronic stress in childhood and throughout life or a physical cause e.g. car crash raising stress levels seems to be a precursor to FMS. Low levels of serotonin another neurotransmitter
