Thumbs up for Nilotinib - Phase II Trials
Background: Parkinson’s disease (PD) involves motor and non-motor symptoms and loss of brain
dopamine
neurons. Nilotinib is a brain-penetrant tyrosine kinase inhibitor that may alter brain
dopamine
metabolism.

Switching off dopamine agonists to tramadol and lyrica

Can you reduce risk of acquiring PD?
For example, are there supplements or things to take or do that help reduce
dopamine
reduction over time, etc.? Any advice? TIA!

Serotonin solves decades-old mystery in Parkinson's disease. (DYSKINESIA)
The finding is puzzling because the usual dyskinesias in Parkinson’s are thought to be a result of
dopamine
action, not serotonin.

Ive read somewhere on here that compulsive eating and weight gain is a side effect of any medication with
dopamine
in. I am on Pramipexole and have been for years and it works for me.

Research shows inflammation reduces dopamine
According to the new study, the mechanism of this recalibration is immune-mediated disruption of the

Parkinson’s PD switched to Functional Tremor FND
Also, I hadn’t responded to
dopamine
treatment. He then told me it was FND, referred me to a website, neurosymptoms.org, and that was about it! I'm happy (if) it's not PD, but my tremor is stronger than ever.

Looking for a less conservative strategy
Modopar , sinemet etc...The supplementation in

seems to be the only response to P.D for most neurologists in France . This website relates new approaches but it seems that the sale of synthetic

is a precious market!!

A small study has recently suggested that Deep Brain Stimulation eases Parkinson’s symptoms by directly raising dopamine levels

dopamine
production ...”

Effect alcohol has on dopamine agonist?
Has there been anybody noticed the effect alcohol has on their
dopamine
agonist? I wear a 3mg
dopamine
24 hour release patch, and have found that on the occasions that I have gone out for an evening with friends, and had a few beers that the patches are less effective.

Is the cure for Parkinson's just a supplement away? Researchers say vitamin B12 can inhibit a key Parkinson's enzyme
The study found that an active form of vitamin B12 called AdoCbl (5’-deoxyadenosylcobalamin) could reduce the effects of
dopamine
loss in Parkinson’s https://www.naturalnews.com/2019-09-01-cure-for-parkinsons-supplement-vitamin-b12.html

So only in retrospect I had no idea
dopamine
agonists can mess you up so much with augmentation and addiction cycle. It took a few months to get back to the starting dose of .18 pramipexole equivalent.

Don't keep fixating on dopamine to alleviate your lack of energy.
If it were, we would all just dump buckets of
dopamine
drugs down our mouths and live happily ever after.

Meditation - A potential case of remission of Parkinson’s disease
We propose that the patient’s long history of meditation practice may have been one contributing factor of this improvement as meditation has been shown to release
dopamine
in the striatum. https://we.tl/t-Cjru4uaGPg
