Iron, buyer beware
Iron is a
dopamine
agonist, maybe the finest
dopamine
agonist of all times, but it comes with a price. Just wanted all of you to be aware of that inconvenient fact.

Clinical research indicates that a process of normalizing the production of various neurotransmitters, including
Dopamine
, Serotonin, and Norepinephrine will start at the beginning of the initial treatment protocol.

Yet Another Substance That Raises Dopamine
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20608992 Seems that oregano oil might also have antidepressant activity via...
DOPAMINE
. I wouldn't be surprised if ginger, turmeric, and a few other benign herbs raise
dopamine
and that's why people on here are feeling better when they drink a cup or two of it.

Why start treatment with levodopa?
Inevitably, the loss of
dopamine
was not matched by agonist and MAOb, and then levodopa was introduced.

This CNS disorder may be caused due to oxidative stress, toxin induced free radicals, or drugs that destroys
dopamine
producing neuron in Substantia nigra. Catalepsy is a symptom of extrapyramidal disorders like Parkinson's disease in animals.

For whom the pill tolls
noticed, did we ignore something and as a consequence did our bodies shut down
dopamine
or minimise production because they ran out of options.

LDN treatment for Parkinsons
There is virtually no toxicity with LDN and the idea of cranking up endorphin generation and using the body's natural defense system seems a logical step rather than relying on band-aid approaches of
dopamine
replacement and symptom suppression alone.

Always do your own research. Trust no one, especially me.
Magnesium may actually INHIBIT
dopamine
release. Very bad for RLS. I have to do much much more research. Years ago I did a lot of research on magnesium and the heart and felt confident that it was a miracle drug (given intravenously) for anyone in atrial fib. But RLS???

Neupro and Rash
I have been told to discontinue the patch and I guess ultimately I will have to but very reluctant since i have augmented on other
dopamine
agonists and thought I finally had the answer. Dr. M recommended I switch to Mirapex ER.

As per him 30 % of PD patients he has come across are with Drug Induced Parkinson ; according to him the synthetic Levadopa makes neurotransmitter inactive thereby driving the patients to totally rely on synthetic

Neurologist at last!
He was a great doctor and has said that it is likely RLS and is convinced that my problem is caused by
dopamine
imbalance as opposed to something more physical.

A promising disease-modifying therapy is Isradipine
Researchers believe the drug works to prevent the death of
dopamine
-producing cells and therefore might slow the progression of disease.
